My first question to Chat GPT. Don't know why it couldn't get that right first time though.

It does talk a lot of crap before giving you an answer. Just as well it doesn't sound human-like or I'd end up swearing at and abusing it.

It hasn't yet developed a sense of awareness of who it's talking to, so it often repeats useful advice to others, back to the questioner.

The free version isn't nowhere near as good as the paid.

That bugged me too and I asked it about it. It's part of the default feedback loop and you just have to train it on the type of responses you want. It's not setup as standard to cater for easily irritated old men.

Was that the paid version? Or are you moaning about the quanity of the free lunch..

I didn't know there was a paid version. I'll take another look.

The difference is the equivalent of talking to a child or a late teen I'd say.

Jeez you must know some smart kids. Both versions are far more well informed than any adult I know.

Its presentational style might not always suit everyone, and it couldn't, but the results are excellent IF you know how to guide it and appreciate it's limitations. But it's v4 ffs so not bad really, even BA is on about v60 or something.

BA's still on version one, 60th amendment. I've always used the major change.significant change.minor change format. :)

Of course Shaun, just a metaphor to try and convey the difference between the two. I didn't word it very well, hence confusion.

Speaking in relative terms :)

You'll find it gets a lot of things wrong but when you disagree with the answer it changes it's mind. I've had it get betting basics wrong like working out average price. You say 'that's wrong' and it says "yes you're right" and then writes the right answer.

Its obvious when you know the subject, dangerous to just trust it if you don't.

Yes couldn't agree more. Must check your work. I'm traveling at the minute and it's helping me write a travel blog. I do enjoy using it but can get carried away and led down the wrong avenue.
