Few questions about the Betfair Graph
Hi, please see my attached picture. I can't remember exactly what market this was but saw it on a video and instantly had some questions as follows.
I understand the red line on the betfair graph is the price but is the back or lay price or average of the two?
Is it the same with the grey lines of volume, is it back or lay's or both or an average?
I thought that when someone put a VERY large bet into the market (circled in blue) as they have done with my example here, which is something like £65000-£70000 it moves the market, but this hasn't at all, why is that?
Thanks

Thanks but that doesn't answer all my questions, in fact raises more, like they say....Realrocknrolla wrote: ↑Mon Aug 23, 2021 6:17 pmhttps://www.insidetraxs.co.uk/betfair-c ... ake-money/
How do they know it was a LAY bet??The volume (£s) is the bars at the bottom of the chart. I have highlighted a £175 bet that someone put on this horse soon after the first show. It was a lay bet as the price went from 3.0 to 4.0. So somebody was quick in there at 3.0 laying this horse probably yesterday afternoon (possibly in the know?).
The red line doesn't represent the current back or lay price but the price where money is actually getting matched, so it could be back or lay, whichever price gets clicked on. The volume bars represents the amount traded at that price before money trades at another price.NeedHelp wrote: ↑Mon Aug 23, 2021 5:31 pmCapture.JPG

I’ve said this before and i’ll say it again. The betfair charts are absolutely awful… pony… dog shit… the advance charts will give you so much more clarity on what is happening in the market.NeedHelp wrote: ↑Mon Aug 23, 2021 6:42 pmThanks but that doesn't answer all my questions, in fact raises more, like they say....Realrocknrolla wrote: ↑Mon Aug 23, 2021 6:17 pmhttps://www.insidetraxs.co.uk/betfair-c ... ake-money/

Reminded me of one of Bidens lines, "you're a lying dog faced pony soldier". I think that perfectly describes the BF charts.Realrocknrolla wrote: ↑Mon Aug 23, 2021 7:44 pmI’ve said this before and i’ll say it again.
