Automated Dutch Bets Using Book% - Getting it wrong
Hi again,
Does this look like the general procedure for creating this file
ie Dutch the outsiders. Eg 3 outsiders in 5 runner race? With book % say <85%
Rules:
1. Update custom ranking, back descending order
2. 5th Favourite stored value IP %
3. 4th Favourite stored value IP %
4. 3rd Favourite stored value IP %
5. Stored value calculated from a range of values
6. Dutch 5th Favourite
7. Dutch 4th Favourite
8. Dutch 3rd Favourite

It would be better to post up the actual rule file ((and just confirm again exactly what it is you want it to do).MIYAGI52 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 27, 2023 4:48 pmHi again,

If I have time i might be able to fix any mistakes in the morning and post it back up for you
Right here goes, I hope my attempt is not to far away.
Strategy: I wish to Dutch the 3 outsiders in the win market in a 5 runner horse race when the book % for the 3 runners is
<85%. Once I have this set up, I will edit it with different sized fields.
Things I couldn't get my head around creating this file:
Rules: "Store a sum of the selections IP's" and "Set a signal if the Sum of IP's less than" when the Gen Tab: asks for
"Applies to selection" what to choose from drop down menu.
I have selected "rank 1 in custom ranking 1" ? This doesn't seem to make sense. I really want to be able to select my 3 selections don't I?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Only thing I could see was the use of signal's which wasn't needed as the Stored Values are doing the same thing for you already, so I've removed them but everything else looked fineMIYAGI52 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 27, 2023 9:49 pmRight here goes, I hope my attempt is not to far away.

Dutch 5 runners.baf
The custom rankings are letting you choose the selections by order of rank from the outsider down, but if you wanted to nominate the runners by name (up to 5 of them), then you can remove the update custom ranking rule at the top of the file, and change the store and dutch rules from being applied to custom ranking 1 'X' to applied to Guardian nominated (1 to 5)
Then pick the runners you want on the main Guardian page each race
Obviously I haven't tested the file but that should do what you want, if not send me a screenshot of the log so I can see where it's breaking down and i'll amend or advise what still needs amending

Hi again,
everything working well with the file, ty. (automated dutching)
The only thing is, I'm struggling to get the full dutching stake on:
I'm Dutching each runner using parameter, by book % for £20 at 2nd best market price.
The total liability each race instead of being around £20, varies from £10 to about £15.
I assume this is because of the varying book% of the dutched runners each race and the fact I'm taking the 2nd best market price.
Is there a better "stake" option in the parameters tab that will get closer to the full £20 (total stake) instead of using the book % ?
thanks.

Eg below. Total stake is £13.25
Time Selection Profit If Win Profit If Lose Win Status
16:05:01 Move On In 0 0 Winner
16:05:01 Stay In The Game 0 0 Loser
16:05:01 Otto Flash 10.4 -10 Winner
16:05:01 Mulciber 18.09 -2.38 Loser
16:05:01 Made All 20.01 -0.87 Loser

Try that modified Dalas' file (you could change the liability by the rule "STAKE").MIYAGI52 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 30, 2023 4:19 pmHi again,
