I'd hope they can redo the bid and get it for as cheap as chips being the sole bidder.
Unfortunately not, I remember something from months ago saying more than two joint countries hosted automatic qualification isn't guaranteed
So we probably have to wait for UEFA to confirm now the hosts have been decided
Old Trafford and Anfield were also ruled out as possible venues in the north as well
Have they changed the rules then?
In Euro 2000 Belgium and Holland both qualified automatically as co-hosts
Its because there is more than joint/co-hosts, the bid was by the UK (England, Scotland, Wales, NI) and the Rep of IrelandLeTiss wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2023 11:36 amHave they changed the rules then?

So technically 5 countries hosting

Yes UEFA revised the qualification process for Euros going forward earlier this year but host qualification is restricted to 2 teams if it's jointly held.LeTiss wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2023 11:36 amHave they changed the rules then?

As the UK and ROI were the only bid left UEFA will have to sort out who automatically qualifies but one thing is sure all 5 nations won't automatically qualify. Wouldn't surprise me if they made all 5 qualify for being daft enough to submit a 5 nation bid.
Turned into a bit of a mess really, I don't know why England didn't just bid for it alone, 5 nations biding to host a tournament is just ridiculous.
Probably wouldnt have been politically acceptable for England aloneMichael5482 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2023 12:02 pm
