Tens of thousands of people protesting and chanting, "Stop bombing Gaza. Stop bombing Gaza..."
It's an absolute mindfuck for the people in the West, you can hardly blame anyone as we're programmed to stick up for the "little guy" and automatically fight oppression almost no matter what, using #FreePalestine because people don't realize the full slogan practically means to cleanse all Jews, the public opinion overall is a shambles

And those on Piers Morgan are keeping score ready to switch sides once it gets past a certain number of casualties, its ridiculous, as if Hamas hasn't killed a ton of their people directly and indirectly... since they want to inflate the numbers while Israel wants to keep losses to a minimum... but all they're doing are creating martyrs, if they keep this up it won't be long before Muslims around the world start going after their local Jews

They're both bombing the shit out of each other, the only difference being Israel has the Iron Dome, while Gaza has the early warning system from IDF, so the numbers seem one-sided but I don't think it's for the lack of trying ... although this logic of warning the terrorists before hitting their targets seems questionable at best

But yeah, Hamas the "brave freedom fighters" hiding in tunnels with their hostages while forcing their own people above to stay and die in their place to win the public opinion war to get more support and money

While the height of Western stupidity surely has to be the LGBTQ+ community wholeheartedly supporting a terrorist group who would hang all of them if given the chance, in accordance to their Islamic law

At least the Ukraine war is as clear-cut as it gets, but this is a religious shitshow and a complete mindfuck (pardon my French)

Just a lil rant before I unsubscribe 🤦‍♂️

That's naive in the extreme. Many billions follow religion peacefully, and many billions more have benefitted and continue to benefit from the charitable and educational works of a variety of Churches worldwide. As others have said it's an obvious nett gain for society.

What you're referring to are warmongers using extreme views of scripture as an excuse for violent acts. If it wasn't this, it would be something else, though I concur that the Muslim religion in particular does seem to have more than it's fair share of those teaching 'Holy jihad' and trying to turn Western nations to Islam, and creating their own laws and rules, as only too evident in the last few decades. But even then, the vast majority of Muslims are peace-loving moderates who detest what jihadis have done in their name.

Where did I say religious followers were not peaceful. Will you please stop twisting what I have said to suit your own biases. Religion is the proximate cause of these wars. If religion did not exist the wars would not have taken place (until another reason was found!). To think otherwise is naive in the extreme.

I'm with Israel. Go in and wipe Hamas off the face of the earth.
Yes but how do you know that the person you are pointing your gun at is a member of Hamas and not just a Palestinian civilian?
I think Israel is expert at this. They've done things in the past that have outraged me, but Hamas are a different proposition. There is a difference between terrorism (Hamas) and protecting your internationally recognised sovereign state from rockets and terrorist raids.
I'm afraid the general population in Gaza are between a rock and a hard place. It's genuinely terrible but innocent Gazans have and will die and it's Hamas that are to blame.
Yes but I've seen reports that Hamas is some 1,200 strong. Latest death toll from Gaza is 8,000 killed so even if Israel's indiscriminate bombing killed all Hamas people that means 6,800 innocent civilians murdered and more to come and what does Israel expect the end result to be, all 2,000,000 killed? If not then where are these innocent people to live? Murder does entitle a murder in revenge.

Well, i'm less with Israel than I was. It seems like they are intent on destroying every trace of Hamas infrastructure and are only nominally considering the innocent. But again.
What choice does Israel have?
Hamas have acted on their idealogical beliefs and Israel needs to protect itself.
Containment of the threat failed on 7th October. Hamas have given the Israeli hawks a perfect excuse for what is happening now.

The answer to this is blindingly simple for me. Forget revenge, idealogy, claims on the territory - get the clever people from both sides and figure out a compromise.
How much death and destruction will it take?

This picture taken from the mars curiosity rover.

It just about sums everything up, all the religion is on that tiny dot. All the human murders, torture, hate, war, terrorism, genocide, it has all taken place on that tiny dot.

I disagree.

Religions all generally teach tolerance, love and respect, but MEN misusing. misquoting and misinterpreting the extreme elements of religion, have indeed caused much heartache and suffering - 7/7 and 9/11 to name a couple in my lifetime.

EDIT - you could apply that argument to almost ANY war - It's about a twisted ideology that MEN, persuade others is worth killing for. I and billions like me believe God to be love, in it's purest form. See Lewis Hamilton's neck for more info : - )

I disagree! :D

Whether it is the religious teachings or that some have used their interpretation of religion to create war, religion has still caused it, directly or indirectly.

BTW I have no desire to see LH's neck nor do I care what he has had done to it. Like Gary Lineker he is just a sporting celebrity, his view on life is no more defining than yours and mine.

According to prime minister Yahoo, the Bible says there's a time for peace, and there's a time for war. Even with over 1000 Israelis massacred he needs religion to justify the war!

The problem with the Bible/scriptures is that they are so vague you can interpret it however you like.

I can forgive you for forgetting about a woman by the name of Liz Truss. She was actually prime minister for a short while, voted in by the Conservative party and completely wreaked the country.

What's more, she did exactly what she promised to do and the members who voted for her knew she was going to do it.

A journalist filmed an Israeli tank firing on a Gazan car. He says a whole family has been wiped out!

I haven't forgotten her name nor how the markets wrecked the economy ... who is to say they were right and she was wrong, interesting there are calls for changes in economic policy now that have similarity with her views.

Anyway the big difference is that as you say she did as she said she would whereas Labour are already stepping back from promises, saying they will not be doing as they said they would ... same old Labour always lying!
