My MP, dear Mr Hancock has been talking in parliament today, this time for a good reason asking for a review into affordability checks in the parliamentary debate today.

John Gosden was also on the local news talking about his opposition to the powers bringing in affordability checks on Horse Racing gambling, he said that it was a sledgehammer trying to crack a nut and the real problem is with online casinos, not regular Horse Racing punters.

I was hoping Matt Hancock drowned to death in the next episode of celebrity SAS Who Dares Wins but sounds like he's back in parliament. Spoilt rest of the show knowing he survived and worse still stealing a living as an MP the odious piece of shit he is.conduirez wrote: ↑Wed Oct 25, 2023 6:34 pmMy MP, dear Mr Hancock has been talking in parliament today, this time for a good reason asking for a review into affordability checks in the parliamentary debate today.

You want to try having him as your MP, he is always away doing television shows, he is known round here as a 'Lesser Spotted Tory'Michael5482 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 25, 2023 6:45 pmI was hoping Matt Hancock drowned to death in the next episode of celebrity SAS Who Dares Wins but sounds like he's back in parliament. He has lost the whip in the house of commons, so he is not a member of their parliamentary party so technically is an independent MP, but as far as I know, I am sure he is still a member of the conservative party, and nobody in the town or down the pub has mentioned anything different to me, and as you can imagine his name comes up a lot, but I stand to be corrected on this. Anyway he is not standing at the next election and his successor has already been picked.Michael5482 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 25, 2023 8:00 pmI thought he was kicked out and is an independent now?conduirez wrote: ↑Wed Oct 25, 2023 7:04 pmYou want to try having him as your MP, he is always away doing television shows, he is known round here as a 'Lesser Spotted Tory'Michael5482 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 25, 2023 6:45 pm

It was under 10,000 when I got the link from the Racing Post this morning.
I see Entain have announced a 6% drop in revenue. Slightly mis-leading form the Racing Post laying it on affordability when Entain don't actually say that directly, no doubt it'll be a factor along with lots of football favorites winning but it suits the narrative.

If Entain revenue dropped by 6% due to affordability along with the other big hitters I'm sure they'd let the Government know.

I actually won't sign that petition even though I dislike falling betfair liquidity
I believe in some kind of affordability checks and spend budgets are not the worst idea I've come across for those who have a serious gambling problem that wrecks families.
Racing Post is an abomination of a publication. Never forget their Bet Fred front page.

How frequently to you look at that tally, to catch it bang on the thousand?

The idea is less important than the execution of the idea.Emmson wrote: ↑Thu Nov 02, 2023 5:43 pmI actually won't sign that petition even though I dislike falling betfair liquidity

Good for you. I'd just been having a convo with the Mrs about whether people vote out of self interest or for what they feel is the common good when those are at odds with each other. I happen to agree with you, but even if I didn't I'd respect that selflessness. I think it used to be known as moral fibre.
