But do you think my reference to that Monty Python sketch is relevant? I thought it was. It depicted how Hamas (the Black Knight) are in a battle they cannot win but are prepared to have limbs lopped off and then berate the Iraeli's for doing exactly what you would expect. It's nuts and has been for decades and no-one with power thinks they should stop the bloodshed. Sorry. Idealistic rant over. :-)
I was talking exclusively about those two. But no worries, I used the same sketch in the Ukraine thread ;) : viewtopic.php?p=311735#p311735
Ah yes much better quality than my link. Over a year ago. Sad, sad situation that people have similar thoughts about conflicts and naff all positive has happened.

I can forgive you for forgetting about a woman by the name of Liz Truss. She was actually prime minister for a short while, voted in by the Conservative party and completely wreaked the country.

What's more, she did exactly what she promised to do and the members who voted for her knew she was going to do it.
I haven't forgotten her name nor how the markets wrecked the economy ... who is to say they were right and she was wrong, interesting there are calls for changes in economic policy now that have similarity with her views.

Anyway the big difference is that as you say she did as she said she would whereas Labour are already stepping back from promises, saying they will not be doing as they said they would ... same old Labour always lying!
Jesus how much copium has this guy been huffing?! The Uk is in an utter shambles - just look at the utter incompetence on show during the covid enquiry if you have any doubts, or look at the NHS, people waiting 4 years for a hernia operation - and all this clown can say is 'yeah, but Labour are bad'

It is root and branch ignorance and incompetence, from their moronic leaders down to their single brain cell supporters! According to this muppet Liz Truss was right and, wait let me get this straight, the markets were wrong?!

That kind of stupidity would be awful anywhere, but that it's on a trading forum is unforgivable. absolute lol.
Oh dear, I guess you disagree then! The difference between you and I is that I look at things and ask if the others would have done better but you look at the same things and say the others would have done better (which can never be proven!).

Oh mate, that's absolutely fair enough. I think the nation as a whole has looked at the covid enquiry recently and wondered how anyone could have done any better.

The evidence is there, and yet people like you just blindly stick to your guns, blaming some other entity - in this instance it's Labour, often it's immigrants. That kind of bias and tribalism is very sad.

After five minutes listening to the leader of Hezbollocks I was bored senseless. Five minutes later, it seems Sky News was bored, or sensed their viewers will be switching off and moved on to another story.

I guess journalists will have to take shifts and digest it a few minutes at a time.

Wow, I know my memory is fading with age but I didn't realise by how much. I don't remember blaming Labour for Covid, I don't remember blaming immigrants for Covid. Did I blame anyone for Covid, please help me to remember. I thought my stance has always been "could others have done better, it was an unprecedented issue?" Well yes anyone could have done better and I've never disputed that but what we will never know is what decisions they would have taken at the time and how actions had to be weighed against alternative actions. And of course they could have done worse. How many times have you said to yourself, "that was a bum trade but I had to make an instant decision based on what I knew at the time, it looked reasonable!".

The Covid enquiry should be about what did we do and how could we improve upon it if there is a repeat. Instead it's turning into who can we blame hearing by all the Professors of Hindsight. And for ordinary members of the public like you and I we don't know what the decision making environment was like. We don't know who advised who and what the advice was and more importantly what contradictory advice was flying around.

Seems to me that the desire to destroy Hamas has unleashed the worst of Israel.
Israel looks like a rabid rottweiler on the rampage.
But I still don't see what choice Israel has.
The leader of Hamas is saying the killing of civilians on 7th october didn't happen.
How can you deal with someone like that?

But it's literally a bloody mess and a terrible waste and that understates the situation but I don't have the vocabulary to describe it.
