Whats your reference for "She's also going to ban hospitals from treating people with firework-related injuries - it's a lifestyle choice."?

"Insiders say she wants to bring back hanging, drawing and quartering."
Lol Thats funny but obviously untrue... erm or rather unproven?
Joke: a thing that someone says to cause amusement or laughter, especially a story with a funny punchline.
So, neither is true or referencable?
Not having a go at you. I just hoped you had something that I'd missed that proved what a **** she is. Because you are far better than me at sifting the media.
It was a reference to some of today's comments that I mentioned in my previous post to this thread.

Not only do many homeless people freeze to death every year, some of them get savagely beaten up while they're asleep. Some people treat them as though they're sub human, so Bitch Braverman's suggestion that it's a lifestyle choice is only going to fuel that delusion.

She said today that there's no need for anyone to live on the streets in the 21st century. It is really mind-boggling that somebody in government, let alone the home secretary, is unaware that working people can't afford to rent places in London for £1000+ a month. She says they're willing to help people who are genuinely homeless, which suggests she's so deluded she thinks people living in centrally heated flats choose to sleep outside in freezing conditions exposed to the elements and risk getting robbed or attacked while they're asleep.

When I first found myself with a cat, I didn't like sleeping with my bedroom door open so the cat can pop in and out, even though I live on my own with the comfort of a solid locked door. Can't even imagine how vulnerable you must feel sleeping on the streets.

What makes it worse is that some of those people will be homeless as a result of Lettuce Liz adding £500 a month to their mortgage. On top of that, she's unsackable because she's already been sacked. She's like one of those objects in a horror film that can't be disposed of, it always comes back!.

She is an absolute ignorant bitch, scum of the Earth, I'm lost for words!

"We will help those who are genuinely homeless. It cannot be right that parts of our cities are ruined and blighted by the site and use of tents. There is no need to use tents for accommodation in 21st century Brittian. It brings criminality, it brings drug use, it brings in many instances violence".

Shouldn't the police be cracking down on camping sites, if sleeping in a tent to keep yourself dry results in criminality, drug use and violence?

I'm beginning to hate the bitch as much as I hate the buffoon.

"If anyone were to vandalise the Cenotaph, they must be put into a jail cell faster than their feet can touch the ground".

That's some challenge for the police, by the deranged home secretary, especially if their feet are already on the ground when they vandalise the Cenotaph!

Potential Tory rape and sexual misconduct cover up hitting the news, after seeing their behavior this week from the Covid Enquiry this comes as no surprise at all.

Many states in the USA have rules/laws making it technically illegal to be homeless and living in a tent outside. Police there have the power to move you on, confiscate your tent and/or send you to court where you can expect a $150 fine. However, most police forces turn a blind eye unless other members of the public start complaining and reporting you and your tent etc.

Ok you nudged me into returning to this ongoing issue - homelessness or affordability of a home and how people find inventive, more affordable solutions.
I visit Edinburgh regularly and for years there has been a mini community of caravans or mobile homes occupying a prime spot on Portobello beach. It's right in front of a bar that the owner wants to redevelop. The mini community are not slackers, they have jobs and have alighted on a solution to the affordability of housing issue. Last I heard they have been ejected after being classified as homeless.
I went into town (chesterfield) for the first time in years. Big issue sellers and homeless skulking in sheltered places.

This government are a shower of shit. It's a f**king disgrace. I left the town centre in a fury and I still am furious when I think about the difference the Tories have made to my town.

When I moved here in 2005 there were no beggars or street sleepers or Big Issue sellers.

It's taken them 13 years but the Tories have put us back to the 80's and Thatcher's destructive "free market", "trickle down" bullshit.
I remember those days. Walking through Manchester and being puzzled why beggars (usually with a dog) were popping up on the streets like mushrooms.

Life choice to live on the streets? Go try it yourself Suella!!!!
Come and talk to the guy I see outside my local Tesco or when I'm in Edinburgh the guuys and gals dotted around the city.

Sorry. But this subject hits a nerve with me.

This is all part of modernising the vagrancy act as far as I'm led to believe. The King should vetto the legislation, and I believe he can do this. I'm sure Prince William would support him, and of course the late Princess Diana.

I'm NOT a CEO by any means, very far from it. But I'm attending a CEO sleep out soon in aid of homelessness. I would invite BRAVERMAN to join me !!!

I also do occasional work for the Big Issue, I'm very familliar with the brand. I have met Lord John BIRD and LADYBIRD. They are both very involved in the subject of homelessness.

So this subject is very dear to my heart to ...

I wasn't aware of the Vagrancy Act changes. But, frankly this looks like twaddle
https://www.gov.uk/government/news/cons ... grancy-act

This isn't dynamic government. It simply removes vagrancy as a crime. Well, whoopee-doo.
"There you go, mate. Not a criminal for being homeless, but you're still fukcing homeless".
Not a shred of legislation to suggest how
"We must balance our role in providing essential support for vulnerable people with ensuring that we do not weaken the ability of police to protect communities."

It's all just Tory crap.

He's just spoken on Sky News. He sounds quite a likable guy, and he's married to a ladybird. :)

Bedford council are investing in sleeping pods under shelter for homeless people. I guess Suella Bitchman will be banning them next.

No, I heard it on Sky News this afternoon.
