And ETH likes Hojlund too. Giving him the best chance to excel. Meantime Rash is stuck out in no-mans land on the left. How do you score from there? Salah manages it on the right but he has other operators to distract the opposing defence. Maquire should have been dumped IMO, but perhaps the toxicity we see is really more about the prevarication of the Glazers about selling. No doubt in my mind that the stewardship of the club prior to the Glazers was far, far better. The Glazers are just profiting from the success they inherited, but have done zero that's dynamic or innovative. It's remarkable that United are still one of the biggest clubs in the world and have won next to nothing since SAF retired.Kai wrote: ↑Thu Nov 09, 2023 11:53 amThink their fans would generally agree with that, but they honestly believe that sacking ETH is pointless as they feel there is nobody better out there atm.
I try not to watch too much of Utd but my own observations are that he's mismanaging and ruining English talent like Rashford and Sancho (probably Maguire) and that foreign recruitment hasn't worked out at all. Onana good with his feet but shit with his hands, Casemiro seems washed, and Liverpool dodged a bullet there with Amrabat who looks miles off it. I do like Hojlund though.
Overall too much toxicity and unresolved issues left to fester in the dressing room and I blame the manager for that.

VAR at it again Liverpool been done again there. How far do they go back, it's like there looking for reasons to disallow goals now. I thought handballs just applied to the goal scorer with VAR or have they changed the rules just for tonight's game.
VAR if used properly may have been a good addition but it's used to make decisions by clowns. Just bin it ASAP.

Yep its getting old, another shocking decision, the idiot first pointed towards the centre and then disallowed it, robbed me of a big lay too as price went below 1.05 I thinkMichael5482 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 09, 2023 7:59 pmVAR at it again Liverpool been done again there. From UEFA's own website: "No handball offence should be called on a player if the ball is previously deflected from his own body and, in particular, when the ball does not go towards goal."
Tbf disappointing attitude from Liverpool and never deserved anything from this, one of those mismatches in incentive and effort where a team already wins the group and couldn't be arsed playing until they're 2 goals down, while Toulouse are fighting for their life and fired up for the occasion.. thought the lineup was far too weak for the biggest group stage match despite scoring 5 past them the first time
That's now two back-to-back complacent and dejected performances smh

Maybe the Diaz issue with his Dad has had a little effect on the full squad and management. Liverpool still going well sitting 3rd, not an easy game v Brentford Sunday but very winnable. I don't support a premier league team but if I did I'd want Klopp as my manager he's a superb manager.Kai wrote: ↑Thu Nov 09, 2023 8:13 pmYep its getting old, another shocking decision, the idiot first pointed towards the centre and then disallowed it, robbed me of a big lay too as price went below 1.05 I thinkMichael5482 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 09, 2023 7:59 pmVAR at it again Liverpool been done again there. For sure it had an effect, Klopp runs the club like a big familyMichael5482 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 10, 2023 6:54 pmMaybe the Diaz issue with his Dad has had a little effect on the full squad and management.
But there are more important things out there than football, despite what Bill Shankly once said

I might look into it but I don't think it's essential. I've been taken out by the odd goal but you have to balance it with the number of times I would have cancel a trade with fast pics that would have been profitable, plus the trades taken out by a goal that was VARred.

Fast pics wouldn't have been any use to me anyway for the first few minutes of the Montpellier match. I was watching the wrong match.

Agreed, professional foul when a 1 on 1 chase from the half-way line with only the goalie to beet cannot be compensated for with a free kick and 10 organised defenders to beat!

Solution to this would be the removal of an automatic red card for the so-called "professional foul" (often ruins the game), and replace with a penalty kick no matter where on the pitch the offence took place.firlandsfarm wrote: ↑Sat Nov 11, 2023 7:40 amAgreed, professional foul when a 1 on 1 chase from the half-way line with only the goalie to beet cannot be compensated for with a free kick and 10 organised defenders to beat!
