The problem with the professional foul is that there is value in it. The punishment does not fit the crime. An alternative to red carding professional fouls would be the one-on-one run at goal from the centre spot or where the foul took place, whichever is closest to the goal with all other players starting 10 yards back!
Sounds like something Americans would think of.

I don't see a problem with professional fouls, when I played holding mid at youth level it was always part of the game.

Thought these time wasting changes were silly too, but I suppose it makes it more fun for the neutrals, and it's great for trading too.
It's been voiced for maybe decades, but it does sound exciting :) I have nothing against the professional foul but am against there being an advantage in committing such a foul ... the punishment must exceed the crime.

Napoli kicked off with bad intentions 8 players on the half way line ready to steam into Empoli. The other two just near the edge of the center circle. Not sure I've seen that type of attacking intent at kick off before especially not in Serie A I'd expect 8 players lined up on the edge of their own box at kick off
did they score?

Disgusting scenes at Elland Road as Leeds fans rip into a rival fan's trousers : https://twitter.com/TashaALTV/status/17 ... 3204666706

Wasn't this ref demoted to the Championship last week, baffling decision to give him this game on his way back

Not a clue but maybe he'll be in the National League next week. I've just seen a video of 2 penalty appeals yesterday not even looked at with defenders hands all over attackers so be interesting how they justify Man City's pen based on consistency (people are quick online and don't miss a trick!)

That aside what another cracking game of football were being treated to.

Agreed. Didn't go my way but to see Poch starting to get a grip on this recalcitrant squad is quite enjoyable.
I like him.

+1 When will they have the guts to charge officials with "bringing the game into disrepute?".

I see it's international week, decent football thin on the ground today.

Footy traders have taken the day off today. Even the FA Cup looks poor.

Not surprised to see decent money for Switzerland tonight vs Israel

Played on neutral territory in Hungary, where a victory for Switzerland will guarantee their qualification for the finals.
They hammered Israel 3-0 at home earlier in the competition, so the 1.63 being backed into 1.53 seems fair enough
