Hi Peter
Think I’m right in saying that most of your trading is Bot related, which is a different skill on top off trading (macro programming)

Hi Bill
The BOT is running all the time, (I only trade manual when I get chance)..but the P&L split is probably 70:30 in favour of manual?
Although I would love it to be different, I find that the auto trading isn't scalable
regards
Peter
PS Here is the link to Andy's blog. I downloaded it via Google reader soe months ago (As I have done with Adam's too, in case he ever pulls it!)
(Andy is ok with it being published):
Whoops (LINK REMOVED) ! Sorry I think it uses my Google login (So obviously dont want to give that out!! - Try searching in Google reader "Dont give up your day job" Blog

I hope Andy won't mind me reproducing this blog post, dated January 2009, but it might give others hope!
As you will know I have been really struggling of late and I am now really starting to wonder if I should just give up, say I gave it a go and made some money but not enough to make it worthwhile.
So far this year I have traded 19 days, taking just the one day off, I have traded 317 markets and have won just £494.81. After paying Premium Charges of £69.04 that leaves me with a profit of just £425.77.
Take off the costs of Sky, Setanta, Bet Angel, 3G Internet and VPN and it leaves me with a shocking £375.27.
That works out to a tiny £18.76 a day so far this year. The minimum wage pays £5.73 and as a 1st Class Honours Graduate I would like to think I could earn a bit more than that an hour.
I know January is a tough month to trade the horses but I am starting to think I am just pissing in the wind.
Am I just wasting my time? I am beginning to think so!
No Andy, I think we can safely say that you weren't wasting time...
Jeff

Jeff, in fact this makes me even more inclined to throw in the towel Look at the type of person trading; 'a 1st Class Honours Graduate' and he remainds us of the cost of VPS, internet, BetAngel etc. , as well as the introduction of the cursed premium charges.
But don't worry mateys. I intend to stick around long enough to extract vengeance on all the traders who tried to snatch my cash. I'm the supreme punter.. I know the form, they don't...I can take these guys to the cleaners...and rest assured, I will.
Cheers

Hi Guys .
interesting conversation you all have been having,i have a question thats been in my head for months now,a question that probably only peter webb could answer for us, and it is this .
HOW MANY COME ? HOW MANY GO ? AND HOW MANY STAY?
( 3 i know )but seriously i wonder how many people subscribe to betangel with the intention of trading ,they try to figure it out, and cant. so they leave,im not looking for any sensative financial information but perhaps it could simply be answered in the form of a percentage?. im thinking its as low as 20%
Thanks
Marc
