Today's Football
Well football has evolved since then, it's no longer acceptable to just hoof the ball every time and concede possession for no reason.
Nowadays a goalkeeper is basically another outfield player that helps with the build-up and beating the opposition's press, but can also act as a sweeper for any through balls when defenders play high lines. It's all very effective and dramatically changes a team's playstyle, that's why big teams have been targeting goalies like Raya, Sanchez and Ramsdale.
But Ederson of Man City is the best goalie with his feet and most comfortable at this role, albeit a very average shot stopper. Alisson is the best shot stopper and best at 1v1s, overall best goalie in the world but also pretty good with his passing, long and short. United went for Onana who is decent with his feet but a shit shot stopper.
That was a bit tongue in cheek, but they can make arses of themselves when they get it wrong. The Sydney goalie did it twice, second time he stopped the ball with his arm and got red-carded.Kai wrote: ↑Sat Dec 09, 2023 11:42 amWell football has evolved since then, it's no longer acceptable to just hoof the ball every time and concede possession for no reason.

He had a big beard as well, you don't often see those on goalies.

Is it too late to award that Diaz goal vs Spurs

Betfair have taken the markets back to the time of the pen by the looks of it as well.
Commentators have made a good point the time from the pen to it being awarded 3 or 4 mins shouldn't count as live play and should be added on to the end of the game as the game time is the time of the pen not the decision.

Bodo Glimt 0-0 Molde ... I have no idea what country, what league but ... I've not seen a game where the Correct Score market is £20.5k matched while the Match Market has only £13k matched! Not seen that before!
