I didn't give much thought to rounding, your maths is perfectly correct (except for "banker's rounding') but it does look weird and it doesn't leave any room for the other ingredients which are "... orange slice (sulphites) (2.0%), low sodium sea salt, sugar, stabiliser (triphosphates), rosemary, flavouring, antioxidants (sodium ascorbate, ascorbic acid), preservatives (sodium nitrite, potassium sorbate), salt, acidity regulator (citric acid)" ... and to save you further detection work it's Orange, Honey & Rosemary Roast Ham. :D

Hams have kind of passed me by, but I know they are very popular. Perhaps now is the moment. Tried Gressingham duck and wasn't too thrilled. I'm still a bit, beef, lamb, free range chicken.
But definitley not turkey. Turkey serves a lot of people but I've never been able to get on with it. I'll happily pick over a nice roasted free range chicken. Turkey? Too dry and bland. But I guess cooking it once a year isn't going to hone one's skills.

If too dry try the USA method ... they deep fry their thanksgiving turkey! Yep, they have turkey deep fryers that can take a full size turkey (and a lot of oil)! Also do you make and use 'proper' gravy using the turkey drippings and the veg water (not Bisto 'plastic' gravy!). And don't forget to cover the breast with lots of streaky bacon. :D

Last night I dreamt I was on death row for a trivial offence and due to be executed in the morning. I was thinking of having a shower and getting my suit and tie ready for the big event, but then I thought fuck it, what's the point? It will be blood-splattered when they chop my head off. :lol:

Wonder what the rationale for doing that the first time (unless it's a historic recipe).
Deep fried chicken pieces are great, therefore some American thought bigger must be better. :lol: Gee you've got to admire the US for it's no holds barred approach to... well, anything.

One of the issues with roast chicken or turkey is the heat is external. This method cooks the outside and inside simultaneously. It's really a bit genius.
But I still won't be trying with Xmas freerange chicken. Too much jeopardy with that amount of hot oil for me. :)

Yeah, I like fried chicken and I like to have a (roasted) carcass in the fridge where you can just pull a wing or leg/thigh off and walk around the house gnawing it. I've been meaning to try frying a whole one in a very large pot I use for batch cooking ... must do so after Christmas, but I will miss the drippings for gravy.

Thanks for the advice. I once saw a video about someone being hit and killed by a car while crossing the road ... but I still cross the road and of my own choosing, not because some stupid bird tells me I can. I also live under a 3000ft flightpath into Gatwick and am aware that landing can be the most dangerous time for a flight to fall out of the sky but never felt the need to move home.

First they look like frozen turkeys. If you are stupid enough to put anything frozen into a pot over filled with very hot oil over an open flame gas burner then maybe it's just the Darwin effect! I've never used two condoms! :lol: :lol: :lol:

Why jump out of a plane with only a piece of fabric between you and certain death?

I've read that 4000+ burn their houses down every year doing this. (deep frying turkey - not jumping out of planes).

The technique is riddled with risk. Narrow containers (presumably to reduce the amount of oil required).
Precarious burners.
Any lack of control of temp or water on the carcass and you're in big trouble. I would suggest having a fat fire extinguisher close to hand.
Chucking water on a fat fire will put you in a world of pain as the water explodes and showers everything with red hot fat.

As I say, too much jeopardy. But firlandsfarm's notion of having a roast in the fridge to gnaw at is something I think we all are drawn to.
