I usually record and then watch matches later at my own speed, but couldn't take my eyes off last night's match as it was happening. Not sure I've ever seen a more frenetic, action-packed game.Kai wrote: ↑Wed Jan 03, 2024 10:29 pmGirona doing Girona things

Players are about 10 minutes behind, awful game to watch. That's problem nowa days clubs just want to stay in Premier League at all costs and go at the FA Cup half hearted and think if we get a run great if we don't there not bothered.

I'd give a Champions League place for the FA Cup winners and loose one from the league.
Lower league clubs already have their own competition anyway. Lower league clubs get a draw at a Premier League club and on TV it's financially massive for some clubs who are on the breadline.
The FA Cup lost it's kudos a long tme ago. I remember United beginning to field teams that could not possibly win. It was a distraction from their prime objectives of the Premier League and Champions League.Michael5482 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 04, 2024 8:56 pmI'd give a Champions League place for the FA Cup winners and loose one from the league.

The FA Cup used to be the best alternative to winning the league. It's now a 3rd at best competition that the big teams might roll out the big names for the final. But otherwise it's to blood young players or give fading lights a shop window to help get them off the books.
I remember when FA Cup Final dominated my day. And when FA Cup shock results were headline news. C'est la vie!!
Must admit I did a doubletake (well, tripletake) when I read Dier to Bayern was a possibility. I can't fathom that. Perhaps the Kane link matters. I would say Dier has been erratic forever. The only reason he was an England player was he was the least worst option. He reminds me of Liverpool and England defenders I would sooner forget. Veers from heroics to disasters. Mostly the latter. The best defender is one you don't talk about.
