Do Chelsea actually own a striker, surely they must have a young kid to stick up there, I'm absolutely bamboozled by Poch and Chelsea tbh
Seems to be Cole Palmer. But he misfired today. A slider into the right post and difficult one to get over one one one with the keeper. But it's only the 1st leg. If Chelsea get knocked out Poch will be under pressure. Chelsea have no top 4 chances. The League Cup is a good alternative. Today they lost to a team a league below. Poch will not be happy I think. Chelsea looked lacking in ideas. Back and forth square then terrible lofted balls that no striker could exploit.

I totally get why TTA was moved. But it looks like teams with a different style are sniffing around and we could get big money for him. If he's not LFC to his bones he should leave.
I think that's your captain for the next 10 years. He's being groomed into that role, since VVD is 33 at the end of the season.

He wasn't moved because he "can't defend", he still plays rightback out of possession. If that statement were true he wouldn't be the only senior rightback at the club. He was moved because of his offensive output, basically because Klopp ran out of ideas last season and said "fk it lets try this inverted fullback thing that Pep and Arteta are dominating the league with". In hindsight he was a season too late with this line of thinking, but now he is a season ahead so he has more than made up for it, and was right to do it because Trent's numbers can rival KDB's.

But I suppose that's how binary the thinking has become nowadays, a player is either brilliant or utterly useless, with no room for anything in between with this cognitive distortion of reality. Look at Arsenal fans, so many of them already want Arteta out!

And he can't defend, why would you be interested in the gristle of defending if you can sail a perfect ball from deep midfield or execute a perfect dead ball!!
I would be bereft if TTA leaves. But it may happen.

That makes little sense to me but you clearly have a different opinion so let's agree to disagree and leave it there

No problem. Just debating subjects. Nothing more. And from the Buddhist credo I wish you well (and that's genuine, not a sop).

At least it's the perfect time to get injured, for both Trent and Szobo :) With the winter break and the weather worsening!

Real v Atletico looks likes it's been a cracker, I don't normally bother with foreign cup games so didn't bother with it.

I started trading it but the 9-second delay put me off and I got out. Then I traded a Portuguese Cup match. 5 seconds surprisingly, but big spread and not much getting matched so I gave up with that.

Turkish Super League up next, 14:00 tomorrow!!

Saudis got their money's worth for sure

I didn't know it was in Saudi until you mentioned it tbh Won't be long before there sticking money up for competitive fixtures but I hope fan power will repel any money they can throw at English football to put fixtures on despite how greedy some clubs are. Maybe they'll test the water with Newcastle and a PL fixture at some point as the owners.

I was a little surprised they weren't involved with the European Super League it was right up there street considering what there doing with F1, Golf and Boxing.

Don't follow those sports but I imagine they are quite happy with how things are going at City and now Girona in La Liga... not Saudis specifically but this type of model

Yep they just throwing money at F1, Golf and Boxing like it's gone out of fashion. The BBC done an interview with Mohamed bin Salman and asked him about sports washing and he said something along the lines of if the money were spending on sport increases our GDP by 1% I'll do more sports washing.

Bundesliga back tonight, hopefully there're all nicely refreshed from the winter break to score lots of goals this weekend. Africa Cup of Nations kicking off as well and looks like Betfair have live streams.

Burnley v Luton doesn't really wet the appetite tonight but a couple of good games tomorrow to get struck into.
