Getting out of a ghastly error last night (right price about 9/2) might help to explain the strength in this one.

Ouch. Went on to win, of course.

The 14:07 was so nice to trade, good liquidity. If only they were all like that. I was hoping Pic D'Orhy would make all, but Banbridge had to ruin it and I had to trade out instead of just letting the profit run on Pic D'Orhy. It was still a nice race to trade and watch though.

I thought exactly the same, so smooth on the ladders. Ken prob can be a lovely track to trade when it’s like that.

Cracking session all round really, plenty to go at, no major clashes, lovely stuff

Anyone have settlement issues on the Wolves 4.30? All my bets just vanished into the ether!

edit: Just settled now.

Was that all it was??

Seems a huge amount to put down on such a low quality race...

Playing devil's advocate here, but is it totally wild to assume that this was somebody with a lot of cash simply saying "f**k it, I'm crashing a price in to guarantee a profit on the final race"?

...so somebody trading, rather than outright backing a horse to win?

If that worked then people would be doing it all the time. Ceteris paribus - exiting the trade would push the price back out to where it started, average entry and exit prices would be equal, and overall profit would be zero.

That's what I've always thought but is it that if you lead the price movement and others follow and lead the retracement back then you do create a profit.
