Or Newcastle, wouldn't surprise me if they put some big money in front of him, they'd be daft not to.sionascaig wrote: ↑Fri Jan 26, 2024 11:07 amProbably want a break before becoming new Germany manager after summer?

Everyone is replaceable but it depends on how many replacements you have to go through to find the replacement. Just look at Man U.
Klopp is one of the best in the business 2nd only to Pep IMO, massive ask for Liverpool to replace him along with keeping hold of the likes of Salah, the wolves will be circling.

Not gonna lie I'm still processing this emotionally but it makes perfect sense logically.
Pound for pound the very best manager out there for most people that truly understand what football is about, but for our worldwide fanbase he's much more than a manager, on a personal level I've learned a lot from him and he's practically been my last remaining father figure.
He talks about running out of energy and wants to quit while ahead and I get that, I really do. He started the LFC project around the same time when I started my BF project and his highs and lows with his team seemed to mirror my own with trading, some of his peaks in recent years were linked to my own peaks, no doubt in part because of the immense energy he projects through his team.
A few years back when this topic came up with his contract it did feel like he was running out of passion for a period and I did find it unbelievable at the time how he can just shrug it off and keep going, and then sign a new contract on top of that. But I shrugged off those thoughts as well and probably took it all for granted instead.
But no other way to sum him up, a truly larger than life character with an infectious smile and humour, with seemingly endless energy that can keep the good vibes and good results flowing, but all somehow based around deep wisdom. Must be any player's dream to play for. Giving his absolute all every season for 3 different clubs, all 3 that share the YNWA anthem, all while taking on richer clubs and frauds like Pep.
So you really cannot fault the man for wanting to try and see how a normal life feels, at his age before he gets too old like he says.
This may be his last big lesson and one of the more profound ones, learning to quit while you're ahead. I will no doubt ponder on this myself.

I wonder if the recent news about Sven-Goran Eriksson has made him re-evaluate his life and how we shouldn't take things for granted.
