Adobe is a great tech stock, that I would add in to the mix, the original SAAS company.

Oh, how many delays there are with these taxes. I'd rather read an article on how not to pay taxes :) And the very beginning of the article says that unless I'm a retiree or Isa, I have to pay taxes. How about registering my trade to a retired grandfather? :)
If you are a retiree and hold shares outside of a pension or an ISA, you still have to pay capital gains tax for those shares.
Oh these laws.... They even want to take money from pensioners. They don't have much left to live for, and the capitalists will take theirs :(

Does anyone know of a safe harbour for your money outside of the European banking system?

I haven't organised my new back garden yet. And I'm not sure customs will let me through with a wheelbarrow full of money and a spade. I think I might have had a road to Damascus moment about bitcoin.

Cash
Requires wheelbarrow to move
Can't be backed up in a second location
Stopped by customs
More prone to inflation since it is constantly printed

Crypto
Fit as much money as you want onto a pendrive
Can be backed up in a second location
Customs won't see it
Risky?

Privacy coins
^ Same but can't be tracked or checked

Otherwise there are precious metals or collectibles https://ludkinsmedia.com/holy-grail-pok ... t-auction/

Thax Alex. All fall outside of regular banking but only crypto solves the additional requiment of use/export out of the UK. Customs have limits on cash, jewellery, art etc (laundering regs) . I think the way to be insulated against hacking/downing of the European banking system is probably just to use an offshore bank, maybe even a US or Far Eastern bank but I'm not sure yet how to arrange one.

Just open a HSBC US bank a/c or buy Gold.
You could also invest in Medellin property

Update as to tech rally.

Can’t help thinking u can own 5 or so stocks and forget

Long : Nvidia (rocket ship) (June 1 price 356, July 1 price - 382) Nov 4 - after 4-1 stock split in June, they now 284 - up 97% in last yr
Tesla .. same (June 1 price, 86, July 1 price -120 - split - up 193% in last yr
Microsoft June 1 - 18386, July 1 - 20500 - now $335 - up 55% in last yr
Shopify .. all star - June 1, 74, July 1 - 98 - now 1525 - up 54% in last yr
Amazon .. same - June 1, 25200, July 1, 28400 - now 3460 - up 7% in past yr
Apple .. June 1, 32700, July 1, 36300 - 152 after split - up 32% in past yr

Have now 5% of the portfolio in Etherum/Cardano/Bitcoin.

DYOR
Anyone that bought Nvidia over last 2-3 yrs sitting on a pile of profit as Nvidia market cap now greater than ALL Chinese stock market.

Microsoft dominating AI space and worth 2.6 trillion market cap.

Tesla went from market cap of 50B to 600B - Musk got compensation package of 56B nullified by courts as being too much.

You can argue the world has gone mad - but these tech stocks are going no-where

Just for clarity

Nvidia share price up 1,734% last 5 yrs - now 721 (think there was some stock splits along the way) 1.1 trillion market cap
Tesla share price up 800% last 5yrs - now 188 (also stock splits) 690B market cap
Microsoft share price up 280% last 5 yrs - now 418 (2.6 trillion market cap)
Shopify share price up 363% last 5 yrs, now 90
Amazon share price up 115% last 5 yrs - now 173 (1.4 trillion market cap)
Apple share price up 339% last 5 yrs - now 188 (2.8 trillion market cap)

Crypto space generally done v well. The investments Sam Bankman-Fried made in Solana/AI have now made whole all the losses. - he might only get 10 yrs in jail.

Anyone still buying US shares?

With car/credit card/student loan repayments at all time high, when will this boom/money printing end?

There is no market I would rather be exposed to.

India ETF's have done well - but USA approaching election cycles seem pretty good to me.
