Connection;Betfair Data request counter/API query.

Hi there,
Over the weekend my connection to betfair was so slow my data request counter was running at 5 or below,on some occassions it stopped and I had to reboot. Annoyingly just as I placed a small bet on.
I read Peter Webbs blog and he reported what to do, however can someone explain to me how to get an 'api and non api connection', I dont understand this.I have a strong wireless connection and I dont think the problem lay at my end of the line.

Hi E so what your saying is if their is a Betfair outage and i had a £2000 liability in a open position, i can go over to my laptop hit the refresh button in connection mode 1 and close it out, i take it no need for closing out in Betdaq

If there was a complete outage at Betfair no. But if there was a partial outage or a staged outage like on Saturday then yes. Basically you should always have something logged in somewhere on mode 1 so you can quickly switch to that and try to do something. Even then it may not be possible but it's the first thing you should try.
