Some of you will already be aware of my contribution to the thread "Account Suspended For Premium Charge Avoidance" in which I detailed my case, where Betfair have stolen over £52,000 from my account due to suspected "Premium Charge Avoidance"

It has become clear that I am one of a number of individuals affected not just by account suspension, but specifically by having funds unlawfully deducted from my account.

I think it would be a good idea for those similarly affected to meet up to discuss the best way forward in trying to recover these funds, regardless of the amounts involved in your particular case. Taking on a company as large as Betfair unquestionably poses a significant challenge, but it is a challenge that can be more effectively tackled by co-ordinated action.

I would like to encourage all those affected to contact me, sandips at hotmail dot co dot uk - or by PM on this board. Your communication will be entirely confidential if you wish it to be so.

I have extended Betfair's deadline for payment after sending them another e-mail, but beyond that I think arranging a meeting with others affected some time during October, would be a good idea.

Best Regards,

Sandip.

It ain't real money until it is in your bank account.

If Betfair simply wanted to stop winning strategies, they would close their accounts like everyone else does, annoying but perfectly legal.

Maybe this is a way for them to get back the losses that they just rolled out today. Someone just hacked into their system 18months ago and just making it public now. Image

Huh ?
So if you deposit £1000 from your bank into Betfair and then blow it all on one bet you say to yourself "it's ok, it wasn't real money anyway".
Sorry, just don't understand your point there.

I can understand that, thats why most traders suffer emotional turmoil when they take losses or drawdowns. When you deposit that money into Betfair its gone from that point untill it returns to ur bank. Thats why you should only trade with money that isnt going to be missed if the worse happens, ok i was more dissapointed in myself when i took that hit a couple of weeks ago, that was more of an effort thing of profiting those funds and if i had made rational measures it would of never of happened. So in a nutshell the only deposit that sits there that we make is in a bank so it aint money till it gets back there

When i deposit money in my Bf account, i accept that i can lose it all trading,

but i do not accept that without warning befair can suspend my account and take that money for themselves with out any proof of P.C avoidance.

I did make a Subject Access Request but have not heard from Betfair.

I would suggest a meeting some time during the week beginning 10 Oct. Please get in touch if you are interested or want to discuss it further.

Yes, Sandip, you are not the only one. After Betfair started to take 60% of the winnings I lost my motivation and have only sporadically done something on Betfair. Unfortunately I did not withdraw my money from Betfair, I was thinking that it was one of the safest places to have money in, but suddenly Betfair recently took from me a five figure sum. I just feel so disappointed and sad that Betfair that used to have such a fair concept now has changed totally.
The message to new customers of Betfair is "Welcome, but if you start to win, we will take your money, hehe...". The emails I have got from Betfair are written like a teenager would have written them: "Now it should be perfectly clear for you that ..." Hitting me and laughing of joy that I got hurt.
I am not from England (maybe because of this the arrogant style of writing to me) and what can a small person like me do against Betfair. They can pay (with the money they have stolen from me) the best lawyers and I have no chance.
I have been thinking why Betfair has totally changed to something evil. Two suggestions:
- They have a shortage of money for some reason
- They are soon starting to play on their own markets using the strategies of their winning customers and now want to kick away these competitors from the markets

How much do you have to make to pay PC, if i make say £500 for the day say they dont take 60% they take 5%. What figure does this affect people

For the new PC (40% to 60%) you have to have made a lifetime NET profit on your account of £250,000. After that point if you are liable for say 60% and you make 10p on the week they will take 6p and leave you 4p. Make £100, they take £60 you keep £40 you get the idea...

Very unjust only a matter of time before someone else comes along basically they welcome net lossers.

We can search for some religous radicals that think that betting is evil and give them the adress of betfair. :)

Now serious I guess there is not much we can do. If you sue them you will maybe get the money but you will never ever be able to bet on betfair.
I got blocked after I started immediatly with winning. I copied simply strategy and played with my own money and all money I won was for me. Even if I would play from the same PC like my friend it's my account and my money.

It's ok if they start later legal investigations if I would transfer the money that I won to my friend. Than it would be cheating betfair but that's not the case.

I think the problem here is that people are being unjustly linked with accounts that are unrelated to them and having PC charges "stolen" from their accounts as a result.

Surely it is paramount to theft that Betfair can be the judge, jury and executioner when it comes to linking accounts.

It's not on....
