I always run a McAfee scan each week, and it sometimes finds 1 or 2 tracking cookies & fixes the issue

This week, I had over 30, so I ran another scan straight after and it found another 21. I keep running scans and they keep coming back

Just how serious are tracking cookies to my security?
And how do I get shot of ones that keep coming back?

as i understand it, tracking cookies are harmless in themselves. they let a site know how often you and what pages you visit extra; allowing them to direct more specific content to you, collate useage stats, stuff like that. they are not virus's, but some scumbugs can as i understand things use them to aid their dodgy/illegal actions. but vast majority are harmless i believe.

some browsers allow you to block cookies, worth checking your bowsers settings to see if you can exclude the cookies from sites your not happy with.

Cookies are totally harmless. I wouldn't spend any more of your time or money worrying about them.

Tell that to my girlfriend, she has bought another new larger cookie jar (the old one couldnt accommodate anything larger than a hobnob). As the jars get bigger she is getting proportionally wider.
