:D Is anyone putting the house on a labour majority yet?

I’m so glad Sunak apologised for being late to the ITV interview… D-Day overran

Rumours Sunak may not make tonight's debate, they can't get him off the toilet.
At least you seem to be enjoying yourself :) You really seem to be treating UK politics like it's your favourite reality show :D

Shame I have very little vested interest, these markets must throw up some very nice trading opportunities with how stubborn people get over politics!

And nice to see the thread make it past 10 pages with all the random deletions going around, KUTGW everyone 😇

Grant Shapps
Warning of "unchecked power", he says "you don't want to have somebody receive a supermajority".

No s**t Sherlock!! BJ landslide is adequate proof.
If there is a supermajority whose fault will it be?

Derek, this isn't a thread for you to incessantly spam the forum slagging off people you don't like.

Turn the volume down a bit, old chap?

These threads are turning rather one sided.

People seem to have short memories. Sunak came up with one of the world’s most generous furlough schemes even after being advised against doing it. Even Tony Blair said it was too generous and should have been targeted using HMRC records. That would have meant many people and businesses potentially going bankrupt.

However, I highly doubt Sunak will worry too much now as he is well off and rumours are the world’s largest private bank and hedge fund has already lined up a 7 figure salary to net him once the inevitable happens on 4th July.

But don’t worry, give Labour six months and other threads will appear slagging them and Sir Kier off. Especially if they go after private pensions, which is rumoured. People about to or retired with a private pension will not be very impressed come the 2029 election etc.

Any govt would be stark raving mad to go after private pensions. But what exactly are the rumours you've heard. I've read that it may reinstate tax for people with pots of £1m or more. Sorry dude, but that policy won't bother Joe Bloggs at all.

Actually I think Derek27 should carry on with his vendetta against Sunak. Sunak appears to believe not having Sky TV is deprivation. Says it all.
I would suggest his parents could afford Sky but didn't want his little brain polluted, but if he recognised that he's chosen to present it as being poor. Your dad was a f**king GP you knobhead!

In fairness he was set up. The question was thrown at him, Sky TV was the best he could do, I don't think he regarded it as missing out on anything significant, but the papers took it out of context and had a field day.

That said, he could have chosen not to mention it and avoided giving the papers ammunition.

Might have to watch Sky News more often. Sunak has just been roasted by Sky's Politicial editor in Grimsby. And it continues.

Honestly, I don't know how politicians do it. Watching the Sky debate and both party leaders have suffered a barrage of often stupid and sometimes downright rude questions and comments. I would just end up telling people who offer no intelligence or respect to get fucked!

The idiot bloke who called Kier a 'robot' to his face, or the father whose 19 (yes nineteen) year old was going to get a house "before Liz Truss put the interest rate up".

And all the fake background guffawing when someone they don't like says anything.

Fake background guffawing? Really? I didn't detect that at all. Perhaps my cognitive bias took over. But, really if you felt that, that has tweaked my attention. That shouldn't happen. This is an important issue. That kind of meddling would be a disgrace.

Not canned laughter. I mean people in the audience loudly fake-laughing. Was especially noticeable during Sunak's section with audience questions.

Oh sorry. I thought you meant over-dubbed laughing. I think now you meant individuals displaying their derision via overblown laughter. I could be wrong on both counts, Either way is not a way to conduct political discussion. Let's hope we make the right decision in July. Either way, but their are other parties available (apart from Reform that IMO should be proscribed).

The level of intelligence of the audience, I hope isn't typical of the UK. When Sunak said stamp duty would be scrapped for first time buyers, for properties up to £400K, there were gasps from an audience of people who didn't understand the meaning of "up to".
