Belmont @ The Big A not working this evening. Notice it's listed as Aqueduct on the TPD status page. Could be why?
Scratch that. Was only not working on one machine.

BA restart has fixed it.

Hi TPD ,

Firstly, can I say it is an amazing product you now have and that the possibilities are endless (and mind boggling) , well done on it.

Just two small items which I wanted to highlight that I have noticed which might help in future.

a) The vast majority of races work perfectly well but, on occasion, I have watched races where one horse number suddenly whizzes off to the side and then returns to the main body of horses. This sometimes happens repeatedly within one race and may just be one of those things. Unless I have backed Pegasus, I don't think it reflects his position! If you want I will track the next time it happens and report back the example as I don't have one to hand right now.

b) Would it be possible to tweak the software to focus the map on the main body of horses at all times. I sometimes see a horse leave the parade ring long after the others and maybe have a 40 second trip to the starting post and I notice that TPD map leaves the main group and travels back to him when I am trying to keep an eye on a larger group down at start or make note of colours etc... Not a biggie but it should be a simple enough fix as there must be some setting which caused it to track the 'late' horse in this instance?

Thanks a mill and keep up the good work,
Dave
Many thanks for the kind words. If you drop an email to [email protected] re any erroneous races, a support ticket will be raised and the guys will drill down into the race and report back. The map is supplied by a third party and used on various platforms so may be a tricky one to circumvent - you can zoom in and out which may be of some help.
Thanks for the reply,
I'll drop a mail next time I see a) showing up very obviously.
Dave
Hi folks,
I sent you an email with the details but the first at Royal Ascot was particularly noticeable for me with horses flying around like Pegasus!

Not sure if any else saw the same?

Thanks,
Dave

Yes the whole race was screwed for everyone. TPD are aware and investigating.

The Internet was down for the first race at Ascot, don't know if that had an impact?

Messy so far.

I know TPD relay the timing from Ascot as the course uses it's own technology.

That is correct, GMAX our usual tracking partner do not operate at Ascot. Unfortunately the incumbent data provider had problems in a couple of the early races, the rest of the card was fine and hopefully a trouble free day today.

Not working correctly for first race at Ripon. Horses all over the place at the beginning and no race meter displayed.

Also, is it possible to get a horizontal representation of the race on the map for ALL courses? The vertical version is difficult to follow.

I've just started using the latest BA beta v1.62.0_b3 and investigating the new TPD error alert options.

Please can someone confirm the criteria being used to trigger a ''transponder assignment error' and the same for a 'data accuracy warning'? Also, is it a case of once the alert has been triggered it will remain triggered for the whole race? Or is it possible that an alert could be withdrawn if an error is detected but then resolved?

I don't know if these questions need to be directed at Bet Angel or TPD so thought I'd put then here for starters.

Transponder Assignment Error - Gulfstream Park 21:01

It all comes crashing down when this happens

Happily for me I was awaiting an entry point.

The TPD interface has the ability to publish warning strings for a race. Some can definitely be cleared mid-race, but I'm not sure if that also applies to an Assignment error. TPD can confirm that.

From our point of view, if one of the warning strings is set to Assignment then we flag a 'transponder assignment error'. If that type of warning isn't raised, but any other warning is set, then we flag a 'data accuracy warning'.

For completeness regarding the warning strings for a race, both the 'Transponder Assignment Error' and 'Data Accuracy Warning' can be cleared mid-race. Although as regards a transponder error, it is unlikely in the extreme that such an error could be fixed in-running. It is conceivable that a data accuracy warning could be removed in-running as this type of error includes a faller, late withdrawals and such like. In all cases the errors are triggered manually, by the Course Operator.
