Starmer, well known for his dithering, has at least made a quick decision to return the £100K the MP donated. Compare that to the guy who doesn't deny saying Abbot should be shot and makes you want to hate all black women, or at least that's what I recall off the top of my head.

The only real difference is it's just £100K and not £5M.

Reading about the Lib Dem Scottish leader who put on multiple bets on the outcomes of various constituencies... (and described it as a bit of a flutter)...

Behind the scenes local activists go door to door trying to determine who is voting for what and what are the chances of getting that person to actually vote come the day, so the local constituency associations have probably a far greater dataset to play with than any pollster...

That info is also fed up to HQ to help shape how support is targeted.

I agree 100%. Being an MP these days seems to be an opportunity to be expolited for personal gain. I am niave but the concept of serving the public seems to be a secondary/tertiary objective.
Dunno how we reverse that trend, but I do know that that selfish attitude is part of what's screwing up our society.

I am sure this type of thing happens all the time in all walks of life.

What’s the bet that a football player could tell his mates that he or other team members are not playing or feeling under the weather well before team news is announced. Said mate could potentially clear up by placing the appropriate bets and a nice little income etc.
