Suella Braverman keeps her seat and will probably be the next leader.

There are many Tory MPs that are very unfairly demonised, but it's wonderful to see the odious Jacob Rees-Mogg ousted.

Each election you see this shy Tory vote come through. Right of centre party voters when polled, often don't tell the truth.

As Ogilvy said - The trouble with market research is that people don't think what they feel, they don't say what they think and they don't do what they say.

A map of Tory gains. :D

Looks like the exit poll was close with Labour, and thankfully wrong with Reform.

Though, given the small number of polling stations monitored by the statisticians, I have to say I'm always impressed by the accuracy of the exit polls

Many Tory MPs are trying to gain sympathy by mentioning their unpolitical staff, who don't deserve to lose the jobs. It's like a mafia boss saying "What about my cleaner, she'll be out of a job?" as the police put him in handcuffs.

Any ideas why the exit polls were so wrong about the number of Reform seats?

I'm guessing they may have overly adjusted for closet Reform voters. :)

Exit polls are generally pretty accurate, but this was pre-exit. I never trust them to be accurate.

The man with a plan that didn't work is about to make his resignation speech. Better not leave it too long.

Very gracious and dignifying resignation speech from Sunak, in sharp contrast to the Buffoon.

Taken from Chris Fawcett on X
Looks like Labour in 2024 will end up with under 10,000,000 votes to get 411+ seats.

Labour under Corbyn in 2019 had a crushing defeat with 10,295,912 votes and only got 203 seats. In 2017 Labour got 262 seats and 12,877,918. Almost 3m more than Starmer's massive majority got.

Apparently, the King, after accepting Sunak's resignation, is required to ask Sunak for advice on who he should call to form a government, where Sunak is constitutionally required to say Starmer and likewise, the King has to take his advice.

What a shit show our constitution is!!
