Labour has promised to build 1.5 million homes over 5 years 300,000 a year which is very noble but net migration was 685,000 last year so they'll need to bring net migration to below 300,000 a year to even make a dent in the amount of homes required, theres currently not enough homes for the peoples already here.greenmark wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2024 3:24 pm"You ain't fooling anyone FFS." FFS!Anyhow I'm sure he's on his way up to or in Newcastle for the latest chapter of nonsense.
He does say he has kids so fair play to him. Kids are a big responsibility and I have immense respect for any parent. I wish I could find a common ground with FFS. But it's just pure hate and hostility. Michael did set out some issues that need addressing, but we know this. The Labour Manifesto is dripping with talk about them. Jeez what a legacy those Tories have left. Shame on them.
Da maths don't work.

Bit of a scare last night. Late, around midnight, pitch black sitting on my porch. Loud howl and 6 sets of eyes from the woods. Then a very large sound of chuffing and the eyes disappeared.
The locals are having lots of problems with wolves coming down as their natural food is becoming scarce.
For those who don’t know, Bears make loud chuffing sounds when threatened or being protective.
Was Mum protecting me, herself, cubs all 3 or just awoken by a potential threat.
Who knows. The wilderness over here is strange to explain.
Amazing though.
You're making the assumption that every single migrant has a two-bedroom house each!Michael5482 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2024 9:37 pmLabour has promised to build 1.5 million homes over 5 years 300,000 a year which is very noble but net migration was 685,000 last year so they'll need to bring net migration to below 300,000 a year to even make a dent in the amount of homes required, theres currently not enough homes for the peoples already here.greenmark wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2024 3:24 pm"You ain't fooling anyone FFS." I think you'll find most of them are in hotels and will be moved to purpose buildings. They won't all be in homes.

LBQT and Palestine flags won't wash over there , good luck to Starmer with the "far right" in Northern Ireland. Just replace "far right with "paramilitary". Doesn't look like there in the mood for negotiation either they been at it just about every night and ramping up.Archery1969 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2024 9:12 pmBreaking news…

No offence but NI is not on Sir Keirs radar at the moment. He knows full well that’s a different kettle of fish. Obviously it’s still part of the UK but part of the mainland. Policing and army involvement there is totally different. The police are use to petrol bombs, the mainland less so. Very few in NI are caught, prosecuted and locked up for throwing the odd cocktail. Do that on the mainland and you will be found and gone for awhile.Michael5482 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2024 9:49 pmLBQT and Palestine flags won't wash over there , good luck to Starmer with the "far right" in Northern Ireland. Not really, NI is different, petrol bombs and other stuff has been thrown over there since the 1960s, regardless of who is in power at Westminster. To date NI is the only place where live rounds have been used. By my old regiment and we all know how that ended up when someone panicked and gave an order.Michael5482 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2024 10:12 pmSounds like his immigration policy for NI is same as over here implementing the kick the can down the road policy Petrol bombs nah nout to do with me Stormont's job devolution init.Archery1969 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2024 10:02 pmNo offence but NI is not on Sir Keirs radar at the moment. But things have changed over there now. Still a hard core who would kill without mercy, lookup to those dads, uncles, grandads who fought back, for something there believed in. You will never change their thinking, ever. Problem is they have access to things not wildly available on the mainland. Lets hope it stays that way.
Do yourself a history lesson, lookup, Milltown Cemetery, the 2 soldiers who drove down a wrong road during a funeral, Corporals Derek Wood and David Howe, each armed with a Browning 9mm and 2 magazines each. Totally outnumbered, dragged from the car and executed on some ground, Sue Grey (Labour advisor) now wants funds to turn into a stadium. She ran a pub back in the day within IRA terroitry. Make your own mind up on that one.
Apart from the mob that day, numbering 300+, 7 people executed those soldiers. All those people are dead.
- 3 were subsequently shot by the UDA in 1992. Nobody was ever arrested.
- 1 died of natural causes.
- 2 were hit by a car after leaving a pub in 1995. Nobody was ever arrested.
- 1 turned queens evidence, was relocated overseas but shot dead in 2001. Nobody was ever arrested.
I was in an Army helicopter that day, overseeing the funeral of an IRA member, alongside 3 other soldiers. We asked 4 times if we could engage, all 4 times the response was no. So we had to do nothing and watch an execution.
We later found out that the thinking was, opening fire on 300+ with a GPMG at a funeral would have had serious international consequences and caused far more trouble in NI and mainland UK in the future. Unfortunately, those 2 soldiers were a price worth paying.
Do people not think their efforts are better spent researching new opportunities in trading then everything that goes on in here.
I get people have a need to converse outside of trading, but I'd personally spend my time being productive rather than arguing over immigration, etc.
