The riot squad have been empowered by this episode. I really don't think the far right have anything to offer the general populace.
They don't believe in democracy so I cannot accept anything they say.
in truth, your own echo chamber can only exist in a vacuum. once pressure tolls from outside, suddenly, the noise, YOUR reality and more importantly, the understanding that you are transgressing societal acceptance all conspires to neuter any (imagined) solidarity..
Jim, whatever you are smoking, injecting or snorting, can you mail me some ?

If people can be banged up for inciting violence online, why isn't Tommy Robinson banged up? He's been doing it for years?

I'm pretty sure Cyprus don't have an extradition treaty with us. I wonder how long he's going to stay there now

i spotted a give away (unintended) snippet in his text exchange with his accountant (where she effectively fired him). i've highlighted the interesting part which was in April of this year. looks like he has been planning on abandoning the uk for a while and was looking for a way of taking his donations with him, tax free:

I've seen that shot before, I didn't register the yellow text though. Guess he's done a runner, knowing he'll be arrested if he lands in the UK again

He sure has. Being extradited from Cyprus to the UK to stand trial isn't unheard of. But I think for things like murder. I suspect he'll be OK out there. If he steps foot back in the UK he will be tried and convicted, no doubt about it. What sentence he would recieve? Who knows. Contempt of a Crown court carriies up to 2 years. He's a bit of a jailbird so that might not bother him too much. But he's no spring chicken so prison might be a tiresome alternative to a sun lounger in Cyprus.

Depends which part of Cyprus he is in...

The UK has no extradition treaty with northern Cyprus, so there are no arrangements in place for police forces to investigate criminal suspects there.

He could have been arrested years ago. As far as I know, they haven't introduced new legislation to convict online hate-spreaders, they're just exercising powers that they already have.

But there's no need to wait for him to come back. Just send in an F-35 and drop a bomb on his house. :D

Shit! Does that amount to inciting violence?

Can you post the rest of that snippet, including his account number?

He was probably granted a Cyprus Golden Visa.

- Invest €300,000 in property or a company startup.
- External income of €50,000 per annum.
- Must have health insurance.

After 3 years he can apply for permanent residency.

The above is not open to members from the EU. Since Brexit, UK passport holders now qualify.

While he qualifies for the Golden Visa, he can’t be arrested, detained or deported for crimes committed in the UK.

I got allot of friends in Cyprus and a Pro Golf coach. They rather desperate now for people to go there and invest. It use to be flooded with Russians and questionable money. Since the Ukraine War many left and/or don’t visit anymore. I remember my golf coach mate telling me that Russians were paying him €300 per hour for lessons, he was fully booked 7 days a week. that went on for over 10 years. But now he lucky if he gets 5 lessons per week income.

My understanding is that TRBis staying in a Russian owned property. Potentially he could fall foul if that property is seized and effectively homeless. He might need to scramble allot of money and quickly etc.

I know. But there have been extraditiions. Or rather people detained in north cyprus, handed over to south cyprus and extradited from there.
But he seems to have friends with plenty of dosh and a willingness to protect him. I doubt contempt of court is a sufficient crime to prompt that scenario.
Also it seems his arrest warrant won't activate until October. Giving him the chance to return an explain why he didn't attend the last hearing.
