I’m new to Bet Angel and trying to set up my first automated betting strategy. I’ve created a basic strategy and configured the automation, but I’m not sure if it’s working correctly.
Can anyone give me tips on how to test my setup to make sure it's working before I go live? Also, are there any common mistakes I should watch out for?

Need Help Setting Up My First Bet Angel Automation
For testing, I would normally pick one of the last a greyhound race of the day.
Then I use that to test triggers by putting up my own prices and creating movement.
You can also take your own bets, for example if you place lay at 2, you can then place back bet at 2 , BA will then show you have taken a back bet at 2.
If your using SVs, add them to the ladder. This is done by going to Ladder setting > additional information > then add the SVSs here. By doing this you can see the SVs in real time.
Make sure you tick (show area) in this tab.
The most common mistake would be, the wrong selection type (applies to selection).
This could be as rule or as a Stored value.
I normally always set (applies to selection) to (Every).Then add the relevant conditions.
If it’s a market rule then you would select (ANY).
A market rule could be (cancel all bet in the market) or if your testing a SV, something like the max/min price, book percent. Basically something that will result in the same SV for every selection.

I've been doing this full time for 6 years and I will still always test a new automation using Practise Mode before setting it live. Not to test profitability, but to test that it triggers in the way that I expect. It's very easy to make a small error that can make bets fail, or even worse, place unexpected bets all over the place.
Practice Mode is available on BS Trader and BA Professional, you select it on the initial sign-in screen when you load BA.
