It appears that after 2 years Starling Bank have decided they no longer wish to offer me banking facilities. It's only ever been used for Betfair withdrawals.

I have 90 days notice before they close it, and so I'm looking for recommendations for UK banks which are "Betfair friendly" please.

The only bank I’ve ever used that doesn’t have an issue with what I do is Metro bank. Most of the others seem to get jumpy at some point.

I was with Lloyds since I was 16 but when I went to set up a business account there ten years ago they refused. Mental.

But financials institutions get nervous due to regulation.

Since the laws changed about gambling on credit cards, there has been increased scrutiny on debit card use for this pupose, to the point that it can now harm your credit score and the likelihood that your bank will lend to you if they see gambling transactions.

I and many others use Paypal exclusively for both deposits and withdrawals for ALL gambling sites including Betfair. You then simply withdraw to your bank from Paypal for free, instantly.

Problem solved.
