Hiya, i'm playing around with automation in the US Open tennis and i want to green up after the first set, but I'd like it not to happen immediately while prices are unsteady. Is this possible? If so can you point me towards how to achieve this?

Thanks.

Set a signal for when your when your particular rule has happened then use the "signal changed condition" which allows you to check for a timeframe since the signal was set.

thank you. I may return with a question about signals. We'll see :)

There is a rule to set a signal, you give it a name, it becomes a signal and it becomes set.
Read the manual

Presumably the odds remain the most stable during a the break between end changes which happens after the completion of every odd game. Perhaps you can build something using server condition, games score condition, or the games market suspensions on Betfair?

Yeah, i agree. I'm thinking 30-45 seconds delay would be enough.

I intend to read the manual, and view youtube videos, before returning for help. Hence "may".

They change ends after the competition of every odd game. That doesn't necessarily mean they change ends at the end of a set. eg 6-4 they wouldn't change ends. 6-3 or 7-6 they would.

If you simply wait 30-45 secs after an even-game set completion then you will be trading in the middle of the 1st game of the second set and prices will be fluctuating.

There's always a 2 minute break between sets which should be plenty of time.

I think i've figured it out with the help of Paul pointing me towards Signals as a way of doing it. Once I know it works i'll share it here.

Great, it works.

I used this which the red text tells me it can work for tennis (which is helpful)
https://www.betangel.com/user-guide/sig ... 3D&mw=MzYw

For anyone finding this and wanting the same thing, how I did it was to

1. set a rule to place the bet, in the signal tab i "Set Signal" named 'delay' to a Value = 1
2. set a "Modify Signal" rule and in signal tab "Increment Signal Value" named "delay"
3. In my green up rule i added a Condition "Signal Changed condition" on the 'delay' signal for the selection to check to see if the value of 'delay' changed between 30 and 35 seconds ago.

It seems to work. Thanks for the help.

Sorry for the duff info. I always thought there was no automatic break at the end of the first set. I don't do much tennis. Learn something every day.

For anyone who might still need it there is a example file here which uses signals to delay bets/greening

Another simple way to add a delay, I use in a lot of in different scenarios.

step 1 Use "Set Signal" when condition are meet in your criteria.
Step 2. use "increment signal value" delay.
ie condition, is delay set with a value? then "increment signal value" "delay" and allow this rule to trigger twice, and then you can use the wait time in signal trigging to add any length of delay begore it triggers the second time. ie wait 30 seconds before triggering again

set signal delay equals 50
increment delay twice waiting 30 between triggering.
30 seconds later delay equals 52 then use when "delay" equals 52 to green up.

Des.
