Hi, just wondering what criteria you look at when making selections for dobbing, do you just look at the stats for the horse you plan to dob or do you also look at the other horses in the race ? I’ve been using inform racing for dobbing the past few weeks and have just been dobbing horses that have made over 50 in profit, it started off great and had a winning streak of 14 within my first 20 dobs but since then it has been break even really, just wondering what I should do to maintain a good strike rate over a long period of time.
Thanks

As Megarain posted a couple of years back:
"The best of the best would know every jockey style, horse characteristics running style etc, and they were v v hard to beat."
You have to consider every runner in the race.
When looking at previous runs, you need to look at how a horse achieved that dob. If it's only dobbed when it's the sole front runner, then if today's race has multiple front runners, then can it be relied on to dob again? Probably not.
If you are profiling a race and come up with a selection, ask yourself:
"For this horse to be a successful dob trade, what needs to happen?"
Do bear in mind that you're playing against people who've got access to TPD, drones, sophisticated models / automation etc.
Good luck.
