Starmer promises that all homeless veterans will be offered homes.
bout time really , but what about current and future servicemen, will they have to leave the forces and wait.

if things dont work out for the best, wait for things to get desperate, end up homeless possibly alchy and or/druggie, spend god knows how long homeless and fucked up or in and out of prision etc, etc, or will the current government put programmes in place so the all stated crap does not happen to them in the first place, and will future government's keep it up.

i doubt it very much.

I know there are a number of ex military personnel living in Kielder Forest, Northumberland.

Met them a few times when bushcrafting there.

Trust me, you really wouldn’t want them as neighbours. Complete nut jobs.

But I suspect they wouldn’t want accommodation anyway. They seemed to prefer the off grid nomad lifestyle.

Just be careful if you go camping there!!!

Quite a few claiming to be ex-military living in tents in the town centre where I live. They have all been offered accommodation but have refused.

The nonsense visible on social media platforms against the new Labour leaders is very similar to the nonsense seen against Tory leaders in the last few years. I always assumed it was generated by people with political agendas but I'm starting to wonder whether it could be foreign states aiming to destabilise the country.
This thought had also crossed my mind.

They might well be ex military, probably from infantry regiments who are often nick named cannon fodder. A high number will have PTSD, drink and drug problems. Better for them and everyone else that they remain where they want to be. You can’t solve their problems.

There’s a well known one who lives on the streets of Brighton with his bulldog. The council offered him a 1 bed ground floor garden flat, he turned it down. Then the Royal British Legion offered him accommodation plus mental health support, he turned it down.

He wants to be outside without being boxed in by walls etc. From what i remember he gets hot meals brought to him and is allowed to use various venues for showers and getting his clothes washed.

Are the wheels about to fall off after just 2 months ?

I watched newsnight last night from over here a one minster and the head of unite said, Labour will get one shot at this, if it fails then they be gone.

Funny times…

I noticed the Royal College of Nursing timed their press release saying 5.5% wasn't enough and they wanted 22% to coincide with Reeves speech. We are on a downhill slope.

They have no sense of humour, the Labour party. It didn't even get any laughs!

Don't really understand the fuss about accepting gifts. If I were PM, I'd take everything I can get if it's within the rules. Next, they'll expect him to pay the full price of two for one offers at the supermarket!

Labour are generally against privileged education generally but it seem to be perfectly acceptable if it comes from a freebie!

So why the fuss about the Conservatives and their freebies. No, don't tell me Two-tier Starmer thinks he's in the "It's OK for me" tier!

Never had a problem with conservative freebies. Just the rule breaking.
