Honeymoon way gone. The media are on the hunt. No problem for me, thats how it works. Just want Labour to make some change. I will never forgive them if they don't.Archery1969 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 28, 2024 5:48 pmMaybe the honeymoon period on a slip.

It really is beyond comprehension.firlandsfarm wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2024 3:51 amOh dear, another £16,000 for clothes ... he must be the best dressed man in Westminster. (And I quote from the Luvvies beloved Grauniad)
You would have thought after wallpapergate, Johnsons £20k towards his wedding & Truss's £14k in missing towels / dressing gowns from grace & favour mansion, some lessons would have been learned.
I really don't see any problem with accepting gifts. Truss earns millions giving speeches, about economics, off all things. While I feel sorry for the deranged lunatics that pay her, it's their money, their choice, and I don't blame a woman with absolutely no shame for accepting it.
Truss is a seriously deluded person. It wasn't the OBR or Bank of England that tore her down. It was the violent reaction of the financial markets to her and Kwarteng's mini-budget. Thats pure capitalism at work. Not left-wing idealogy infecting the OBR or BOE.Derek27 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2024 10:38 amI really don't see any problem with accepting gifts. In fact the OBR were silenced by her while she careered on regardless of advice and market reaction.

Looks like the Chancellor Reeves is considering changes to the government's so-called fiscal rules governing how much it can spend which will trap the UK in 'financial black hole'.greenmark wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2024 2:28 pmTruss is a seriously deluded person. Have removed my Pension from UK indices for a few weeks just in case.
can't tell if you're being sarcy or not (i.e. heeding advice from a rumour mill)...jamesedwards wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2024 7:36 pmOh my God.ForFolksSake wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2024 5:10 pmLooks like the Chancellor Reeves is considering changes to the government's so-called fiscal rules governing how much it can spend which will trap the UK in 'financial black hole'.greenmark wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2024 2:28 pm

that said, heard from a friend (who has a friend of a 3rd cousin [twice removed] in a very high government position) that child benefit was getting scrapped. have removed my penis from all activity until after the budget. conversely, will have to rely on my index for a bit.. lol
Another view here from the IFS.

Bottom line is Labour need to do an awful lot to repair not only Tory mismanagement but also the cost of covid (through quantitive easing) and Ukraine support is still with us. The world is a bit mad at the moment. Who'd be PM? Even if you get £16k worth of suits.
