An excellent appointment imo
I think most England fans are hoping for the best. My view is he is a serial winner but known for getting grumpy about recruitment.
With England, recruitment options are limited. He has little choice but he appears to believe the potential is already there.
The elephant in the room is a German leading England to their 2nd World Cup.
Process that idea.
How many England fans on here would vote for that? Personally, I would. I don't care who runs anything as long as they are ethical and successful.

Hope England never play outside of major tournements again tbh, these international breaks are absolutely tedious.

Season starts get in the trading groove then bang international break, get back in the groove then bang another international break, getting beyond a joke what are we learning against teams like Greece and Finland other than the manager won't sing God Save the King.

Club-wise no English manager has lifted the Premier League trophy, Howard Wilkinson won the Division 1 title the year before the Premier League started. The last English managers to win the European Cup/Champions League or UEFA Cup/Europa League were Joe Fagan and Keith Burkenshaw for Liverpool and Spurs in 84.
I think Euro 2024 this summer had 4 Italian managers and 2 German ones, rest 1 each.

Pretty amazing statement from Pep.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola on the departure of director of football Txiki Begiristain at the end of the season: "Part of me is leaving. A friend of mine, an architect who created one of the best teams at Barcelona and here. Personally he will be missed a lot.

"He made me balanced in this job. I'm so energetic and when we lose I want to destroy everything and he always said "take a moment".

"In all the families we have to move on, and the club will move on.

"We have won a lot. The chairman would have sacked me if the results weren't good. It doesn't matter where you were born, if you don't win people ask for you to be sacked. But if you have success people will support you."
Pick the bones out of that.

Over 2.5 goals Bournemouth v Arsenal looks a good bet around 2.00 at KO, decent afternoon so just a casual bet on this one while takeaway is on route.

That red card for Arsenal is barely ok. Loooooong way from a goalscoring chance. But definitely cynical. A cynical challenge in the EPL, who'd have thunk it!! I hope VAR treats all such cynicism equally,

I think red card was the correct outcome but I'm surprised VAR gave it when the ref didn't.

I would do away with automatic red cards for professional fouls and make it a penalty instead.

LFC v CFC could be a corker.

it would be nice if they could un-suspend the OU1.5 market, been a few mins now since the disallowed goal.

He's naked as a right back. His remit to roam forward is fine in an attacking sense, he's pretty lethal if he has wlling runners to aim at. But if possession is turned over he is useless. He's even useless in defensive set pieces.
Tempted to beat you up with cherrypicked small sample confirmation bias until you change your mind 😇

I don't watch all LFC games. So I can't comment on what I don't see.
I love TAA. I would be mortified if he left LFC unless for big money.
Where do you play someone that has a wand of a right foot but is short of pace to recover when he goes forward and is so useless at the back post defensively?
He also can't convince his defenders that "I don't want a ball into me, facing my own goal up the middle with the opposition breathing down my neck"

If Real take him for big money I think I would be happy, sort of. He's a scouser, Gerrard was ok as local lad. :-)

I'd be staggered and elated if that lasts.
