One of the main problems is the people who work pay too much money for the people who don't this also includes illegal immigrants. 6 billion a year on illegal immigrants, 13.3 billion on foreign aid, god knows what the the welfare bill is. Cutting the welfare bill in half by forcing people to work, slash the foreign aid budged by 3 quarters and send all illegals back b@llocks to the ECHR what they going to do tell us off

Politicians are trying to portray Britain as this beacon of international democracy while it's own people are suffering year on year which is no longer acceptable.

Debt interest maybe a bigger problem.. £126bn pa according to FT... Only Health (277bn) & Education (146bn) greater...

Wasn't the foreign aid budget plundered to cover migrant costs (amongst other stuff)...

Something will eventually give you can't continually tell British people year on year no matter if the Government is red or blue there in for a tough time, hit them with heavy taxes, higher energy bills etc etc etc while spending billions of their money on non-British people who are doing OK out of our money.

That still doesn't make it clear.

IF Labour have loaded the inheritors of a working farm with 20% tax over £1million I would be furious.
If they have dectded to tax at 20% ovvr £1 milion for inheritor are going to sell up their inhertiance, I have no problem with that.
IHT for non farmers has a lower threshold for tax and a higher rate of tax over the threshold.

Apparently it’s not just on the land, it’s also n machinery and livestock. The detail wasnt read out on budget day. Farmers are arguing that there machinery alone can be over £1million on large farms.

As I've said if they get taxed when they continue to farm the inherited property, I would be furious. That's like a kick in the balls.
That's plainly not fair or useful for our country.
If the inheritors choose to sell up they should be liable for tax.
I've been all over this today and social media has failed me. I stil don't know the facts of this policy.

I might be wrong but a Farmer was interviewed by SKY News and said he had spoken with son about taking the farm over and his lawyer said you will need to pay £7,500 per year in inheritance tax until the outstanding balance due is paid if you wish to keep working the farm.

If that is true with ever shrinking farmers profits then that disgraceful, in my book.

If true, yes. Disgraceful and it will be a black mark against Labour (and as we know I'm a Leftie).

Farming - whole thing is a right mess...

You have those that have farmed for generations - some own the land some are tenancies.. They struggle year in year out with outrageously complex regulations, huge risks and very little return..

Then there are the lot that have inherited vasts tracks of land and stick some farming on it & stick it in a trust to benefit from inheritance tax breaks, e,g. Duke of Westminster & c350 others across the UK.

Then you have King Charlie & Willie who get to scrutinise the legislation and make sure it doesn't impact them & so pay no inheritance tax on "private" assets.

You would think the legislation should tackle the 2nd & 3rd types, not the "small" family farms...
