US Presidential Election 2024
I know next to nothing about betting, but I see on odds-checking sites:
Trump 1.14
Harris 10 (now falling)
Is this error by bettors' misunderstanding the USA electoral system?
Or a foregone conclusion that Donald Trump will almost certainly win, yet the BBC are in denial?
I saw this on the UK Brexit vote. Even when the 'Leave' vote had won with 100% Certainty, folk were Still Betting on Remain?
A slightly-interesting fact: I'm prescribed Cabergoline for endocrine disorders. One of the side-effects are compulsive gambling/shoplifting/other out of character behaviour. I believe for the last twelve years, I think about gambling/betting odds/etc every single day. Yet not once succumb to the temptation...
Have a good evening. Thank you in advance...

Looking bad isn't it? But still wouldn't want someone to shoot a politician or anyone else, except in self defence or to defend someone else of course.
Democrats failed miserably to convince the public they had the same values as them. Ran most of the campaign along the lines of don't vote for him.
Whereas Trump campaigned as the champion for core American values.
Democrats just overreach and that doesn't resonate with true US mentality IMHO.

Very good point.Euler wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2024 5:02 amDemocrats failed miserably to convince the public they had the same values as them. Ran most of the campaign along the lines of don't vote for him.

The corollary being this is what Trump does, he drags the debate down to infantile levels. Drives me nuts but seems like he'll be Pres for another term.
In fairness, there were more reasons to not vote for Trump than to vote for Harris. Or the main reason to vote for Harris is that Trump would win otherwise. But one of the big problems besides Trump himself is the stupidity of some of his followers. He says migrants are eating cats and dogs and they believe him!
The popular vote is shocking. Some people went hot and heavy for Harris in this market.
How did the Democrats get this so wrong? Could anyone have beaten Trump? I can’t get my head around his appeal (apart from feeling emboldened to say the things social norms say you can’t…)

The democrats just didn't come out strong enough for what the typical US person wants.
Your typical American lives in a great country, wants liberty, freedom and lack of Goverment. Democrats completely off target with their messaging. Which appears to have been, don't vote for him.

If you feel like placing a bet out of compulsion don't do it. Not unless its a bit of fun. You wont make money that way. Take it from us, we're know what we're doing probably better than anyone else.1080 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2024 3:49 amI know next to nothing about betting, but I see on odds-checking sites:
