However,

I have been looking into this so called free trade agreement (FTA) between the UK/USA.

Lets look at the maths.

Current yearly trade between the two is £225 Billion or $296 Billion. Has been for a number of years.

Main things the UK exports to the USA include vehicles, machinery, pharmaceuticals, and mineral fuels.

Main things the USA exports to the UK include crude petroleum, petroleum gas, and gold.

Securing a FTA would only increase this by £15 Billion or $19.4 Billion.

My point, its not a big increase, < 10%.

So, don't worry about it. The UK has far bigger problems to worry about.

Matt Gaetz who's under investigation for underage sex could be AG, Gabbard who's been outed as a Putin ally is in charge of Intelligence

Makes you wonder how many people have brains in the US.

I've always known a lot of US citizens don't know where places like the UK are on the map, but Bonny Greer summed them up well on Question Time. Apparently, many Americans never travel outside of the US, and with two massive oceans on either side of them, they want nothing to do with the rest of the world and just want safety and security. In Trump they see a strong man that will protect them from the outside world.

Bonny Greer  this is the woman who wanted the ship logo's removed from Manchester United and Manchester City badges because it promoted slavery. She really comes across as rational, no wonder she gets on Question Time.

I'm not too familiar with her, but from what I remember she really put Nick Griffin in his place on QT. :)

Then again, so did the entire panel, including the "impartial" David Dimbleby.

I said many times, most Americans don’t holiday outside their state or country. They not interested what happens either outside their state or country. Southern states hate northern states and vice versa.

Don’t forget the USA is 40 times bigger than the UK in area.

If Trump says we not helping Ukraine anymore and leaving NATO then more than half the USA will agree with him. Plus they would save a fortune.

I suspect the EU and NATO is going to have to step up big time otherwise Putin will pick on someone else in Europe next if left unchecked etc.

No they don't. Problem (these days) mainly stems from ppl who live in cities like NY, DC, SF thinking they are so much smarter than the rest of the population.Causes resentment. Im all for travel but in fairness we have mountains, deserts, forests and beaches here. But, I agree. Traveling would help a bit with some cutural shortsightedness if thats what you mean.

Considering all of the issues we have internally it would be nice to see a few more of my tax dollars stay here. Not all but more. Also if we're going to deport 20 million ppl we gotta get the cash from somewhere (joking).

Hes gonna get the peice of land he always wanted from the begining. Just at the cost of billions of dollars and lots of lives.

Don’t get me wrong, spent allot of time in the USA, fishing and hunting. The latter was not so easy when I was in the UK. You certainly can’t crab a rifle and walk into public land and do as you please like you can in the US, while following the law of the state. But like I alluded too, allot to do in the USA, so in one respect, people don’t need to travel further afield etc. Had many happy times over there and on one occasion came close to over stepping my Visa stay. On purpose. 👍

Never been so no 1st hand experience.
2nd hand: Couple of mates spent a very culturally educational time there. And a contractor acquaintance with money to burn had several shopping trips on Concorde to NY and is a massive fan of the US and Americans.
But as you say the US is massive. Russia maybe be bigger but a lot of it inhospitable.
Uniited States says it all. Unless you're still a Confederate which there still are. It's a different world to the UK. We are struggling to hold 4 states in union.

I once made a parody post specifying what forum members I'd select for my cabinet if I were PM, including Alex as health secretary.

Looks like Trump's done the same, selecting an idiot who said HIV doesn't cause AIDS to run health!

Looks like the Trump tenure is going to be a bit "exciting". I wonder what the anti-government lot make of him.
