Hi Lads and Lassies,

As a newcomer to the forum and still an inexperienced trainer, I don't have much to offer, except perhaps on this subject. I have a couple of programs that need to run under Windows my Mac PC and have done so successfully and faultlessly for some time.

The best answer is IMO to use the Bootcamp fixture already inside the Mac OS. All you need to progress is a copy of Windows (I use Win 10) downloaded from Microsoft's website. No need to purchase or load any VM type software at all. Bootcamp makes a new partition on your hard drive; you'll need about 150 Meg which you select as Bootcamp does its thing. It then loads the MS operating system into that space, and that's you done.

On booting up the Mac you select which OS you want to use and away you go. with a clean fault free, stand alone installation, with no glitches or speed reductions.

Initially you don't even have to buy a key for Win 10, it will work quite happily without one. I purchased mine for about £10 off Ebay.

Hi guys! We are in 2024 now...
We recommend using virtual machine software like Parallels to run Windows software on a Mac. If you have an Intel Mac, you can get the best performance by installing Windows in Boot Camp. You can also use Wine via Wineskin or CrossOver Mac, or access Windows software via a remote desktop solution.
Can I use any of these to run BetAngel on my Mac? Any recommendations and experiences?

Cheers

PS. Getting my first Mac ever, that's why I am asking.

I'm using Trader on a 2017 MacBookPro with Bootcamp. Bet Angel runs brilliantly. My sole problem is the tracker pad on the Mac. Sometimes I get two clicks when I only want one. I can go for days without a problem, but it's a disaster waiting to happen.

Today I butchered a decent position on the cricket by greening up via the trade profit column only for the second unwanted click to open a new trade against the market trend.

Only small stakes today, so it's not the end of the world. I'd like to find a way to eliminate the problem. Altering Windows settings doesn't help. Has anyone experienced the same issue? Thanks.

You may want to trying slowing down or amending the speed of the click. Found under mouse settings.

Thanks, Peter. I'm afraid I've tried that to no avail. Last night, I altered the Mac's own tracker pad settings and turned off the haptic feedback. I thought I was onto something, but I've had another occurrence of the phantom second click today.

As someone who is considering getting a Mac and who mostly trades in running is there any lag noticeable while using parallels desktop and bet angel?

Can't offer any comment on Parallels, but I run Trader on Bootcamp and there is no lag whatsoever. I'd try Bootcamp if you have the option.

In short, the better Mac you get the better the experience.

You can get the odd little quirk with Parallels, but it's pretty good.

I’m running an M4 Max with 32 GB Ram and don’t notice any lag running Parallels.

Are you running it in coherence mode?

I use a mac M1. The best setup in my opinion is to use a Windows VPS.

That way I can use my mac for my daily work without and trading stuff affecting it.
Also if my internet goes down that my trading is still connected.

Using an M4 with 16Gb memory.

Bet Angel is running well in VMware Fusion with Windows 11.

VMware Fusion is free for personal use.
