At the risk of going off topic...

Davis vs Hendry vs O'Sullivan is an interesting one.

O'Sullivan is a bit like Alex Higgins. When he's in the zone, he's lethal, but so often his head wasn't in the right place! O'Sullivan may have been able to pull off shots that other players could only dream of, but surely part of what makes a player great is the ability to stay focused and disciplined, come what may.

As for Davis vs Hendry, it's a bit like asking whether a young Mike Tyson would have beaten a young Muhammed Ali - We'll never know. But before Hendry got the gips and started missing shots he'd normally put away effortlessly, he was arguably the greatest player in history...

Actually, as I was making a cup of tea - I was thinking maybe I should have said Alex Higgins.

Anyway, over the last 7 years Chelsea have conceded less goals than Manchester United and won more top English Honours - so, while not at their best they are still better than Man Utd.

So, as I have said many times, being the best is not about one-off results like Man Utd 8-2 Arsenal. Arsenal are equal with Man Utd on away goals yet they have not won the premier league in the last 7 years.

What is said in newspapers is usually just tosh. Anyone, can state the obvious - it takes knowledge to read between the lines...

Perhaps we're a more attacking side, and we're happier to risk conceding chances in order to create chances.

1-0 isn't a superior result to 3-2... :)

We've won 4 Premier Leagues and a Champions League.

So I'd say we've shaded it in terms of overall accomplishments since Abramovic came on the scene...

Did you forget Chelsea's title in 2004/05 or 2005/06 or 2009/10 - three titles since Abramovich bought Chelsea.

Oh, so your trying to claim Manchester Utd are a better team than Chelsea because John Terry missed a penalty... :o

Please tell me that if he had scored that penalty you would say that Chelsea were the masters.

If one team gets 4 more points than another over the course of an entire season, it hardly proves that they're a better side...

BTW, it's interesting that Man U occupy 5 out of the 10 top positions...

The difference between us and Chelsea in that table is tiny and could well be explained by something like, to pick a random example, a couple of missed penalty kicks... ;)

Chelsea did dominate the Premier League that year, it's true.

But doesn't it say something about Man United that we bounced back from that terrible year, and won the Premiership in 2006-7, 2007-8, 2008-9, 2009-10 & 2010-11? I see a pattern forming there! ;)

Any team can have a fantastic year, particularly if their biggest rivals are having a lousy year. Even Blackburn managed to win the Premiership once. But history remembers the teams which win again and again and again...
