The uk / European markets are doomed.

It won’t matter if Betfair market operators don’t turn up for work as there will be no recreational punters left and the eco-system will self implode.

The land of the free (ish) is the new frontier ( for now)

Isn't this related to online gaming as opposed to general betting which has it's own affordability monitoring? If they introduce a £150 loss limit for betting/trading thats going to include every man and his dog who loses £5 a day. There will be no punters left.

This isn't new news, it was part of the plan.

Whilst I disagree with any infringement of civil liberties, it is essentially just a soft credit check to make sure you aren't bankrupt or struggling with grossly unaffordable debt.

So you can drink as much as you want with no tests or checks and slowly kill yourself but you not allowed to gamble online as you please. But you can go to the bookie shop 7 days a week and/or casino and spunk as much as you like ?

My oldest nephew spunked a flat, wife, children, a house, another wife and child, all by being onsite at a casino in Brighton marina. Sounds like this new legislation would not have prevented that one bit or am I missing something?

No, you're not missing anything. This is how it works ... here's a problem, what's the easiest target we can go for and ignore the rest. Then at election time it's "we did something but Rome was not built in a day, it takes time"
