Good morning

I've already ask support this question and sorry if someone had already asked it (I can't find it on forum)

if its a repeat can admin delete this and point me in right direction pls

I'll ask it anyways so maybe anyone wondering knows aswell me lol

If I set a automation do I have to have to have the software open at the time?

What I mean to say is how automated is it?

Can I leave it to do it's thing while I'm not in front of the computer?
Can the computer be turned off or needs to be on?
just asking because I noticed on all the races I've been watching someone always lays at 1.01 and I was thinking surely they can't be doing that every day it must be fully automated

I ask this because i want to do this set up some trades while im at work

TIA

" Hi Volts,

"Can I leave it to do it's thing while I'm not in front of the computer?

Bet Angel is installed on your local PC so it needs to be on and you must be logged into the Bet Angel software to maintain an active connection with Betfair (This includes ensuring sleep/hibernation mode is disabled on your PC) to be able to retrieve the latest markets updates and send bets/amend orders etc when required.

" just asking because I noticed on all the races I've been watching someone always lays at 1.01 and I was thinking surely they can't be doing that every day it must be fully automated "

These will be bespoke programs usually written by individuals with there own Betfair API key, they will be able to instruct there program to continually call Betfairs servers looking for new markets and then place at bet 'X' price when they do. As a commercial 3rd Party program Betfair will not allow us to offer automatic checking for new markets (this needs to manually be done by each individual), the primary reason for this is if everyone using Bet Angel (or any commercial software) were continually calling Betfairs servers looking for new new markets it would put a massive strain on there servers and infrastructure.
