Chart Problems - Why no candles?

I'll skip the Two Ronnies references - tempted as i am.

I have played with chart settings for hours. mostly just because I want to try every option and learn as much as poss.

I have decided I like the candle chart and blue colouring, i need to see as little red (mist) as possible when trading

I came up with this and quite like it:



I duplicated that chart setting to give me two options for time periods. But for some reason the chart looks totally different from the pic above if its set to anything longer than 2 minutes. Any longer period and it changes to a line chart. It looks like a line chart anyway. Here is what I get for the exact same chart as above but changed from 2 min period to 10 minute:

Could be sample rate? The bottom chart looks like a candle chart at a resolution beyond the ability to see each clearly. Going from 2 to 10 mins means the bars in chart 1 become x5 narrower.

Genius! I wondered about that but thought I saw a 5 min period candle chart on the forum somewhere and it looked like my 2 min candles.
Just thought of a way to test your suggestion. I used the enhanced ladder/lightning icon, chose my 5 min chart and could see the candles on there as it's much bigger. in short, you're right, and I'm a dumber.
