cameron and the 2 other noddys in charge of the other 2 parties put the vote under a 3 line whip. they were not interested in public opinion hence the 3 line whip, only the vested interests of a few elites they have sold their souls too(my assumption).
what is the point of another e petition?if the result is the public wish a vote/say on whether to stay in or out of the eu it will never get through parliament, it will be subject to a 3 line whip. it is not in the interests of the elites.such petitions are pointless, parliaments function is to protect and nuture the elites not the masses.

Mr Cameron might view the public as serfs who are not fit to wash his feet, but he needs their votes in order to continue looking down on them from his lofty perch. And if he's constantly being bombarded over Europe, it will be harder for him to get re-elected (and let's face it - the BBC love nothing more than talking about divisions within the Tory party!).
So hopefully the net effect of the pressure will be for Mr Cameron to throw a bone to the Eurosceptics and repatriate some powers from Brussles (or at least give them fewer additional powers!).
And it may create momentum, and send a message to future political leaders that denying the British people a say over Europe has consequences. In today's opinion poll driven politics, that could have a big impact...

neither party as ever (since 1975)worried or cared less about the british public's opinions/wishes on europe. i doubt if the current noddy in charge cares either.
as you no doubt can probably tell, i am very cynical (as well as opinionated) about politics but, i hope you are correct i am wrong, though i doubt it.

No, it was because pandering to certain interest groups was the best way avoid negative headlines and get elected. If Eurosceptics make enough noise, their campaigning could have a similar effect...
