Hiya

I tried to deposit some money into my bf exchange acc and got this weird message never got before:
"You have reached your maximum Default limit of £5000"
What is "default limit" ?
What does it mean ? Thanks !

PS: I checked my deposit limits and all daily, weekly, monthly say "no limit".

Do you have multiple open bets if so it could be your exposure limit, I think Betfair automatically set it to 5k for most sometimes happens when you have loads of open bets (this is what I've concluded anyway) only happened a few times since I've started using the API fully and been nowhere near the 5k exposure limit.

I just ignore it.

They've recently given everyone a monthly limit.

At the moment my monthly limit is £5K which is the same as my daily limit.

They decreased the monthly limit from £150K(in theory) to £5K without saying a word to inform me.

Be mindful of the fact that previously withdrawals didn't get knocked off what you'd deposited. (illogical but). It was also the case that affordability checks were influenced by the frequency of deposits/withdraws and things like mid-session deposits. The logic being that if you need to move cash around a lot you might be short of it.

Try to leave enough in your account to cover bad times and just pull the winnings out. Or if you're not winning then deposit large and infrequently rather than small and often.

Broke my own rule about not using the word "winning" . Never won a penny, it's money earned through hard work. You wouldn't call paye wages 'winnings'.
