The winner has been disqualified but, bets had already been paid.Has Betfair suffered a loss? or have they recovered the money paid to the winners? How does it work?

That is correct, they will just resettle the market on the amended result.
One thing that I have never seen in their rules is at what stage they no longer amend the payout, has anyone else ever seen anything on this?
Sometimes it is possible for a result to be amended weeks if not months later but as I understand it BF do not resettle these markets, so at what stage is the cut off in terms of time past?
