Expert Fee and Buffer calculator

I've spent some time working out the new structure and thought I would share my excel calculator.

The Expert Fee = ((gross P&L - buffer) * rate ) - commission generated

The Buffer = (commission generated / rate ) - gross P&L) + any buffer carried forward

This certainly helped me understand how the new structure works, especially the new buffer calculation. Hope it's helpful to others.

It's worth noting that the new 'gross P&L buffer' method nets out exactly the same as the old 'PC bank' method would have. It's just a different (and imo clearer) way of measuring the same thing.

I've tested this extensively and it seems to work on all the scenarios I've put into it. You've saved me a few hours there!

Thanks James. Only just got my head around the calculation and started working on spreadsheets and database connection. Makes sense and that spreadsheet will help.

I'm in the same boat Derek, gonna have to get my head round re-coding my database to now cope with bringing all the bits and pieces together for the expert fee. Have we also lost the record showing the amount of markets the fee applies across? Pity if so as I liked to keep track of how many markets I'd done over the account lifetime to see if my efficiency had increased etc.
