Wow! What a drift! Yet it goes on to win!

Anyone know what caused the drift?

It wasn't playing up or anything as far as I remember so perhaps was just priced wrongly before the drift.

In previous posts on this subject, it was noted that there was no apparent reason for the odds to drift. Then why did it?

Firstly, have a read of this (particularly the 3rd from last paragraph):

http://betting.betfair.com/horse-racing ... 20708.html

Secondly, yup, the odds drifted. However, during the last few seconds before the off, the odds shortened - which no one mentioned.

One explanation of the last-minute betting trend reversal is that it was the traders getting out. However, the odds also drifted at the track and then shortened just before the off. That can't be put down to traders exiting. Yup, it could be put down to the bookies following Betfair - except the time factor tends to discount this.

Food for thought.
