I hope Betfair is not making a crusade against Betangel users, but I believe they are looking extra close on us and other API users. Betangel VPS users I think they are even more paranoid about.
Betfair does not want to speak about their charges from winning customers, first 20% and then 60%, and if they say something it is like it concerns only an small, small minority of the customers and these people they try to put in bad light somehow. But the truth is that it is not so small minority after all because they are clumping together people. What they count as one have actually a tail of many profitable users that they have put together and are not counting.
I am pretty sure that after having kicked away or paralized their winning customers Betfair pretty soon will start to play on its own markets using our winning strategies.
There is a question why not go to court against Betfair because of their stealing of money.
I can answer only for myself. My situation is that I have no other source of income than Betfair (well, Betdaq is rising and it looks hopeful) and I am afraid that Betfair will close my account if I start to be difficult. After the 60% shock I could not do much for a long time, lost my motivation, and then the other shock, the unbelievable stealing from my Betfair account. But now I just have to accept that I have to try to live with the 40% and have started to work again and cannot risk to make Betfair angry at me!

Seems to have gone very quiet with regards to all these cases:

Has anything happened with this?

And this one,

Did this person do nothing more but accept BF's decision, if so seems a bit odd if you did nothing wrong?

my case is resolved with betfair.

They saw that I used same strategy as my friend. So for them this is one entity. I also logged in when I was learning it, in his house. They took premium charge now from his and my account.
If I can continue playing on my account I will do this beside a normal job to earn some additional money.
And this one,
Rush1980 wrote:In November I received an email from Betfair pricing, my account was under investigation for an suspicious evasion of the premium charge and then after about 20 days I received a mail "my account was linked to other accounts of other people. Betfair has taken 30,500 euros from my account and they asked me other 23.000 euro!I was desperate, Betfair does not listen and did not understand my explanations.
And finally this guy who featured in the papers:
sandyman wrote:Just to clarify, I have no knowledge of any of the accounts listed in the e-mail other than my own, and I have only ever had/operated one account – in my own name. I have bet in less than 250 markets and was never asked to pay the Premium Charge prior to the suspension of the account.

I am demanding that Betfair repay the balance of £52,352.85 which is rightfully and lawfully mine.

This afternoon my representative handed out a document detailing the case to shareholders at Betfair’s first Annual General Meeting, and detailing the likely consequences if the sum is not repaid in full.

After the AGM, he met another individual who had a similar experience and who knows a number of people in the same predicament. It seems that some sort of class-action lawsuit may be a possibility.

.....

I e-mailed Betfair yesterday and am still waiting for a reply. I will try to update you on the situation as and when I can.
Also what was the outcome of the SAR? As well as the meeting?

I would suggest a meeting some time during the week beginning 10 Oct. Please get in touch if you are interested or want to discuss it further.

I contacted The Gib Gambling Commission (now an arm of Gibraltar government). They said prior to filling in a complaint form I need to send a written letter to Betfair and allow a certain amount of time for them to reply. I sent that letter on the 20th of October and haven't had a reply so I'll be firing off the complaint form on Monday/Tuesday.

Did you sent the letter by recorded delivery?

TBH, I'd email Betfair to say 'If I don't receive a reply within the next 7 days, I shall begin proceedings with the gambling commission without further delay', attaching the letter as a Word document. That way, Betfair can't say 'We receive lots of letters, and we hadn't had the opportunity to read this one prior to the action with the commision being commenced'.

Jeff, I will fire off an email with the letter attached explaining that I sent the attached letter by recorded delivery on the 20th and hadn't had a reply and that I am now filing a complaint etc. I have had about half a dozen emails maybe more, similar to the letter I sent, ignored already having been passed on by the helpdesk. It hadn't occurred to me to do that.

I'd say your being stonewalled (as happened to Euler when his account was suspended). The majority of the time when I email Betfair, I've received a reply within hours...

Good luck.

I have to say the lack of follow up comments/updates by all the people that I mentioned in the above post, bar The Strulach, is a bit odd.

I have checked and these people have been on the forum since my post, Kemabet was just the other day giving out about people not talking about it yet chooses to not reply on this thread.

I do wonder about some of the cases that have been put forward on this thread....Especially given that you wouldn't have expected these people to just forget about what happened given the rage they seemed to be in about them...

So come on people lets hear what has happened.....

Emailed Gib. Gambing folk Monday with the complaint form, emails, letters etc. Sent copies (including my birth certificate) recorded delivery Saturday afternoon. I haven't actually had a response from the gambling commissioner yet but expect one soon and will keep you posted on all information regarding this process as I get it.

Peter Webb sent out an email to forum users who have had dealings with Betfairs Pricing Team so I thought I would update the forum with the latest information from my own issues with the Betfair Pricing team. The Gibraltar Gambling commissioner, Paul Fox acknowledged receipt of my complaint a couple of weeks back and in his own words 'the complaint will be prioritised along with all other work in progess'. I haven't heard anything else yet but am hopeful and will update this forum when I get some info worth posting...

Hi The Strulach

Thanks for the update.

Do you get the impression that Mr Fox was fobbing you off, and basically saying 'Don't call us, we'll call you'?

Hello Jeff,

No that was definately not the impression I got from Paul Fox. I got the impression my complaint would be dealt with fairly and thoroughly. I have no way of knowing how busy the man is or how long I'll need to wait before I hear anything. I'll be happy to wait so long as the complaint is dealt with properly.

He cant be that busy of a man Strulach if he has time to send you out nice letters. They love to send letters. I had an issue with a Bank who wouldnt let me send money from myself overseas to my UK account and they love to send me a letter every 6 weeks to say they have not yet finished their investigation. Finally after 6 months of me calling them every week at least one time, I finally got to an organ grinder on the phone and they got it solved. Jobsworths! Keep on to him now that you have a name of someone dealing with it.

Buried in the report and accounts is this little ditty: -
Featurespace Limited
During the period, the Group was charged £0.2 million (31 October 2010: £0.2 million and 30 April 2011: £0.4 million)
for consultancy services by Featurespace Limited in which the Group has a non-controlling interest.
Have a look at their website: -
