Hi peeps, interested to hear if there are any people here who has multiple accounts, say one in the UK and one in Aus? I lived in both countries and now settled in one, but both accounts still active. Would there be any legal implications if I used both? I read up quite a bit but cannot find anywhere on BF site talking about it. I do not want to do anything that will have both my accounts closed. Interested to hear if anyone had any experience with this. Thanks guys.

Best to ask them. Might be seen as a potential way to avoid fees.

Best not to ask them!

In my experience there is no easy way to link two customers in two different countries. But of course, you technically can't have two accounts at a base level. So it's a bit woolly in terms of what is allowed and what is actually possible and the consequences of such.

I'd probably just stop using one entirely just in case closing one account somehow gets you flagged for some self-exclusion nonsense, now or in the future

I spoke to Betfair last week regarding what I needed to provide them if I changed my address from a UK address to one in the Rep Of Ireland.

They told me you cant change the country on an account and I would need to just open a new account once I had proof of the new address (Utility Bill Etc).

Nothing was mentioned about closing the current account but I don't know whether it was to be assumed that I would.

Guess I'm more risk averse than you. I wouldn't want to fall foul of some 1/1,000,000 random sweep if I had nothing to gain from having 2 accounts, and then go through the agro of getting reinstated.

And 2) when it comes to my account I'd always ask the organ grinder. ;)

Compliance departments are very officious and will almost certainly say no given half a chance.

I was advised to create a new acct when I moved back to the UK, they then moved all the PC details from the old acct to the new one. No good if you are still moving from country to country though.

You can, but I've seen some inconsistency with that, not really sure why that is?

Some users could change their country without opening a new account, while others needed to, didn’t seem related to a specific country either

Be interesting to know what the Ireland situation is on this, Dundalk and Newry are only about 16 miles apart but in different countries and EU/non-EU. Moving from one to the other and starting a new account once close to your limit could be a way of avoiding fees/charges/expert tax.

Mark my post it'll happen some day and somebody won't back down when BF refuse to open their new account and BF/Flutter will be in a long long drawn out court case in the EU courts over the consumers right to service and their refusal to provide service or some shit like that. It'll be similar to the Christian couple refusing to bake a cake for a gay marriage, although plenty of racing/betting/trading news coverage but nothing mainstream.
