Yeah, I was finding that ... very frustrating. But I tried ending chats I expected to return to by telling the AI that I expected to continue the chat later and therefore it should save and remember the chat and it seems to work. The latest one was working with an MQL4 AI coding bot on a Saturday recently and wanted to test the code it had offered. So I told it I needed to test the code but couldn't do that until Monday ... it responded it understood and said "see you on Monday"! ... and we just continued the chat on the Monday.foxwood wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2025 10:34 pmTotal frustration with chat last couple of days - quickly forgets things and gets stuck in a loop. Anyone any experience of paid Gemini in comparison - chat just seems overloaded, slower and had it's memory reduced. Or is it due to trying to use Project for the first couple of times although that is supposed to be more "intelligent" ?

I didn't realise they are so close to these things being viable!
The vid shows them doing general tasks ... no give them a gun and tell them to go into battle! Scary,
The point is now they are there they are not going away and they will just get cheaper and better.

Nature can show you only need one male to seed many offspring. So a bit like farming, you 'dispose' of the unwanted males at birth and just keep a few! Are you feeling lucky you (younger) gentlemen?

The world will be a better place when men are removed from the process and left to die out completely. Nothing but trouble.firlandsfarm wrote: ↑Wed Feb 26, 2025 11:49 amNature can show you only need one male to seed many offspring. Time (or tooooo late) to implement Asimov's 3 rules of robotics !firlandsfarm wrote: ↑Wed Feb 26, 2025 11:40 amI didn't realise they are so close to these things being viable!

I've gone over to Abacus - trouble is that it uses Chat4 a lot and get the same or even slightly worse confusion. At least they tell you when the thread is getting too long - fairly quickly it seems. Problem then is that new thread has no knowledge of other threads. Does use Claude a lot for code which seems better and more accurate results.firlandsfarm wrote: ↑Wed Feb 26, 2025 11:19 amYeah, I was finding that ... very frustrating. Firlandsfarm/nature does have a point, technically artificial insemination makes going into those directions possiblejimibt wrote: ↑Wed Feb 26, 2025 11:51 amwhen i was a lad we were a bunch of wank3rs - don't think anything will changefirlandsfarm wrote: ↑Wed Feb 26, 2025 11:49 amNature can show you only need one male to seed many offspring. Hard to blame the ladies, and can't say I'm not a bit concerned with the fact we keep getting dumber over time when you look at the IQ downtrend, while AI keeps getting smarter. Already outscores us in IQ tests but can't do everything yet as there's obviously different types of intelligence : mathematical, verbal, creative, logical, spatial, musical etc... Although (!) we should be mostly interested in how it's going to perform in the EQ tests
And add variance to that as well, think one advantage it has over us is its intelligence isn't prone to variance like ours, it operates at a consistent efficiency while we're annoyingly impacted by both external and internal factors like sleep, stress or motivation.
Especially motivation, I actually feel it's the most underrated factor that also directly ties into why many people start thinking they lack intelligence to crack trading whenever they hit a wall, which is nonsense really. When you're only chasing a quick buck your brain just won't be interested enough to fully engage with the problem, let alone solve it.
You either find the market and the game genuinely fascinating, or you don't!
tbh -(imho), afaik, creativity is spawned by *variance*. we just KNOW that we're in a rut and something pushes us to climb over the edge. now, you could argue that having a constant *non variance* would counter that, but in my experience, faced with impending black holes and a pinch of doom, we tend to blossom...Kai wrote: ↑Wed Feb 26, 2025 7:37 pmFirlandsfarm/nature does have a point, technically artificial insemination makes going into those directions possiblejimibt wrote: ↑Wed Feb 26, 2025 11:51 amwhen i was a lad we were a bunch of wank3rs - don't think anything will changefirlandsfarm wrote: ↑Wed Feb 26, 2025 11:49 am

Motivation is perhaps the main obstacle for many. At times when a person loses interest in what he or she is doing, it seems that he or she is unable to break through the wall, even if it is because of his or her own efforts and attitude.jimibt wrote: ↑Wed Feb 26, 2025 9:08 pmtbh -(imho), afaik, creativity is spawned by *variance*. we just KNOW that we're in a rut and something pushes us to climb over the edge. now, you could argue that having a constant *non variance* would counter that, but in my experience, faced with impending black holes and a pinch of doom, we tend to blossom...Kai wrote: ↑Wed Feb 26, 2025 7:37 pmFirlandsfarm/nature does have a point, technically artificial insemination makes going into those directions possible

I tend to go to the "Explore GOT" option in Chat and search for a model designed for the subject (code language in this case) that I need help on. For instance I find "MQL4 Code Wizard" good for coding MT4 EA's and if it fails to compile it usually corrects the code at the next attempt. (I assume it learns as I point out compiling errors/warnings!)foxwood wrote: ↑Wed Feb 26, 2025 6:13 pmI've gone over to Abacus - trouble is that it uses Chat4 a lot and get the same or even slightly worse confusion. Gonna have to start asking Chat which chat to use nextfirlandsfarm wrote: ↑Mon Mar 03, 2025 1:32 pmI tend to go to the "Explore GOT" option in Chat and search for a model designed for the subject (code language in this case) that I need help on. Finding Abacus quite good - I've got a handle on the size of thread and complexity it can manage and break things down into smaller segments and then explore those in detail - from breakfast thought to highly customized working model by tea time. At least this way you find out quickly how stupid your idea was in the first place rather than working on it for weeks before discovering that.

Thought I would try Abacus based on the good reviews here. Clicked to sign in as an individual then it asked for the name of my Organisation so having clicked as an individual I thought "OK, it's looking for marketing data or an account ID" so I entered a name. Now I can't do anything until I give it CC details and commit to at least one paid month! No matter how I try to delete my 'organisation' I am met with the payment screen. Is this a scam or a con? I tried to re-register myself as an individual but it tells me I already exist. I could use different registration details but that is against my registration format that allows me to easily remember login details. I will be staying with ChatGPT and Gemini until Abacus realise customers can make registration errors, especially if registration requirements/options are not made clear. Why take someone from an individual (free) membership and 'trick' them into a paid membership with no exit? They are not the sort of people I would trust to do business with!
